Happy 20th Birthday, Lucas!
We include mention of his special day in
our journals because Lucas will be Cassie’s brother-in-law after he marries
Rebecca.
Ethan:
My highlights for last night included the
barbeque dinner; family and friends outdoor play time; Dad’s return home; and
the cuddle and nap time in the lounge with Naomi while Ehlana and Ehlana
actually watched most of our two-movie ‘marathon’ that two of us were too-tired
to stay awake to watch with them. That
nap in the lounge lasted for quite a while because Mom and Dad went to bed
after our guests went home for the night and didn’t check in on us at all.
Tai Chi by the river for six and the follow
up breakfast were a great way to start our day; and then we were put to work
for a lot of the day – though Naomi and Aiden only stayed and helped Ehlana and
me until they needed to be home or at the bakery while moving on to their own
adventures for the rest of the day. Our
chores were in and out of the house; we worked until mid-afternoon except for
lunch and a cool-down swim break; and then Mom set us free for the rest of the
afternoon. Since our best friends were
busy, we opted for a canoe ride upriver; we went for a swim at our turn-around
point; and then paddled home in time for dinner with Mom and Dad in the
sunroom.
Dad has a lot of work to get done this
weekend, so he was in the office after we ate; Ehlana and I took care of the
clean-up; and then we did some studying in the office while Mom and Dad worked. It was bath or Jacuzzi time after that – and our
bedtime walk with Silkie; and now I’m ready to crash and nap again. Our weekend excitement level may be dropping
compared to all of the fun we had this past summer, but we’re happy and having
fun with our family and friends – even on a chores day; so life here in our
little town is really good.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Ethan’s cuddle-and-nap report seems a bit
unfinished to me. I wonder why – not!
;^)
That’s all I’ll write about that, since my
best friend is still very happy; and it’s no wonder that Ethan was smiling all
day too – even when doing our least-favorite chores. He’s covered the non-news highlights of the
day; so I’ll only add that we both enjoyed the twin time canoe ride –
especially when we don’t seem to do that sort of thing with just the two of us very
often lately.
I don’t have much news to report for Cassie
and Michael, but they are doing great; and keeping busy with their classes,
studies, and family business work. They’re
probably working too hard, but also are out for a play night with their friends
tonight too; and I hope that they’re having fun and staying out of trouble.
We haven’t written about that in a few
weeks, but we continue to have the sense that we’re all going to get a bit of a
break from the Dark Magi drama and danger.
It’s also important for us to work on the love-and-happiness part of our
lives – which some of us did better at last night than others! ;^)
I’m not going to keep teasing Ethan and
Naomi about that – at least in this update.
There also really isn’t anything for me to add tonight either; so I’ll
wrap this up and get some sleep.
For some reason; I’m more-tired tonight
than Ethan is!
So much for not teasing Ethan and
Naomi. I guess there’s at least a bit of
Aunt Leanne’s sense of humor in me too – even if that isn’t as obvious as it is
for Zack and Brianna.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
