Ethan:
Dinner and a movie night ended up being a
bit weird – at least for some of the guys in the house. Zack’s gagging at anything he heard that was
wedding-related was part of the strange, but then Aunt Leanne goaded him on a
bit too; and she’s very excited about Cassie and Michael’s wedding. The movie, inevitably, was a chick flick that
was also a wedding comedy; and scared Zack and the other boys away. We played video games in the lounge – even though
I’d have rather cuddled with Naomi; but we got to do that later after everyone
else went home – while we watched a movie in the lounge; and Ehlana and Naomi
talked about the engagement and wedding a bit more. It was past-midnight when we went off to our
beds; and then we’ve had a quiet day around here today. There were chores to do this morning; Ehlana
and I went out to play this afternoon; and then we had a pizzeria pizza dinner
with Mom and Dad; and a quiet work and study evening in the office after that.
I’ll leave the Cassie news to Ehlana; wrap
this up; and get to sleep now because I’m tired and ready to crash.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Let’s start with the Cassie and Michael
news update.
We should have mentioned that they’ve
already asked Rowen and Tim to be their Maid of Honor and Best Man
respectively. Ethan and I are really,
really hoping that we won’t get asked to be ring bearer and flower girl. We want to be part of their wedding, but we’re
eight; and Ethan might not live that down with his friends.
They had a great night out last night with
the dinner and musical; I won’t comment on the roommate swap and sleepovers,
since having a big sister blaze the trail for things like that will come in
handy for us eventually; and then Rowen had a bonus birthday surprise for Cassie
today – a girls’ spa visit with their friends.
That was definitely more fun than our chores were this morning, but we
did get to play this afternoon while they studied. They had a take-out dinner back at their
townhouses, so that seemed to be a popular choice for our family tonight; and I
have no other details for the rest of the night.
Let’s pretend that we don’t know why Cassie
wasn’t answering her phone. She was
likely just tired. ;^)
The last thing I’ll add from Cassie’s news
doesn’t have much detail, but it seems that Philippe is not happy about Cassie’s
engagement. Her friends did their best
to keep him at arm’s-length since then, but Cassie’s getting some bad vibes
about him that we may be picking up on from her – or we’re getting that
unsettled sense from some other source.
If he keeps bugging her; I may have to go for a visit and have a talk
with him because it’s just wrong to try messing with another guy’s fiancée!
I don’t have much to add from home. Ethan semi-mentioned the cuddle time with
Naomi, but skipped over her attempt to pretend that she fell asleep. Mom gets bonus points for getting her to
laugh while taking the picture by telling them to “Say future fiancée!” while
getting ready to capture that moment for posterity. The outdoor play time was fun, but I think
that I’m already getting tired of winter.
Maybe we’ll get an early spring!
We got a fair bit of studying done tonight, and that’ll keep us ahead
next week when we’ll have less time to study or work – and Dad will need to get
ready for his week in the city too.
Working on a Saturday night might not seem exciting – because it isn’t,
but we still had fun together; and our doctoral studies are challenging and interesting.
It can also be tiring – especially when we
use time phases; so that’s all for me tonight too; and I’m going to head off to
sleep now.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
