Ethan:
I don’t have any news from around here for
today, but the Presidential State of the Union address was last night; so this
is going to be one of my few political reports.
As you may have noticed with the last
update, I didn’t mention this news because we didn’t watch that supposedly
all-important annual event. That fact
alone would be politically-controversial for some, but last time I checked; we
still have the right to ignore politicians at all levels of government if we
choose! ;^)
We – the kids and teens at our school – did
not have the right to avoid the lessons that were taught today to appropriate
grade levels in civics, but Ehlana and I resisted the urge to bore our
classmates with advanced political theories while doing our elementary-level ‘analysis’
of the big speech. You’ll be glad to
know that I won’t go into those details.
Instead, I’m going to suggest that we’d all be better served to ignore
the theatre drama coming out of Washington D.C.; build our own networks of
families and friends; and change the world despite those pointless political
distractions or roadblocks that usually just keep most of us from getting
things done – or do more harm than good.
I’m not suggesting that there’s no need for
governance at all – only that we don’t need it in the forms we see here at home
– and pretty much everywhere else in the world too. That isn’t a ‘power corrupts’ comment
either. Those of us who are Magi of the
Light know that isn’t true; while Dark Magi don’t believe in corruption at all –
only the right to act as they see fit.
You don’t have to be a Magi to be swayed to the Light or Dark, though,
so when the Ascension of the Light does succeed; I’ll predict that the Capitols
of the world will be very different places than they are today!
Okay, that was a longer rant than I
planned, since I am just ready to call it a night and get some sleep, so that’s
all for tonight; and I’m going to get right to that nap time.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I’m tempted to get started on a nice, long
rant about politics too, but I’m in a really good mood; and that’s a dark,
scary place to go! ;^)
That truth doesn’t actually scare me off –
I just don’t want to use up perfectly good time thinking or writing about
pointless nonsense. There is one thing
that Ethan wrote about that I do want to expand on, though – his comment about
the Ascension of the Light and how it will change governments. We know that must happen for obvious reasons,
but some Magi would want to know whether we – the Magi of the Light – would need
to step in and take over – all over the world.
We will need to step up after the Ascension, but I don’t plan on moving
to one of those Capitols – and we definitely will not set up a world-government
from here in our little town. What we do
expect to happen is that new servants of the Light will step up and into those
positions of power to help us take care of our world and everyone and
everything in it as was and is meant to be done – instead of the extreme
exploitation and destruction that continues as we near the end of the Dark’s
supremacy over the Light.
That last little truth is actually all we
need to know about most of the political games being played everywhere – and knowing
that Ascension of the Light is coming is all we need to have hope for our
collective future.
I’ve run with this for longer than planned
too, so I’ll digitally shut up now and just go and get some sleep.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
