Ethan:
We’ve had a good day that included after
school play time with our friends; dinner at the Inn because Mom didn’t feel
like doing any cooking and cleaning; and game night after that before coming
home and doing some work and studying.
The news of the day for our family comes
from Cassie, though, so I’ll wrap this up and leave it to Ehlana to do that
part of our report tonight.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I’m sure that you’ve guessed that this news
will involve Philippe – again. Cassie’s
problem tonight was a bit more-serious; which is why he’s spending some time at
the campus hospital getting treated for some broken bones and other
injuries. We don’t need to cover all of
the details here, since Cassie is sure to do that in her journal, but I’ll cover
the basics.
Cassie was helping her friend, Serena, with
getting caught up on her studies and organized for her sports travel with the
college girls’ softball team. They’d
worked on their own to get more done and were on the way to meet up with Michael,
Rowen, and some of their friends earlier tonight when Philippe snuck up on them
from behind, tried for some very-inappropriate contact with Cassie; and she
defended herself in a Ninja Girls sort of way.
Philippe may still not be getting the message, but he will have
something to think about while healing up from a broken wrist, broken ribs, a
knee injury of some sort, and the rest of the bruises and bumps that came along
with getting knocked flat on his back and hitting his head on the path – we didn’t
ask whether that was a paved or crushed stone area – not that it would matter a
lot in the winter.
From what Cassie told us a little while
ago, the hit on the head didn’t knock any sense into Philippe; he kept trying
to be funny even after Cassie refused to let him claim that he hadn’t been
trying for that inappropriate contact with her – which was why she got really
mad and kicked him in the mouth while he was down.
Sure, that was wrong, since Cassie wasn’t
in ‘danger’ anymore, but in case we haven’t mentioned it lately, we’re aren’t
perfect; and can do the wrong things now and then too – though we try to do
what’s right all of the time.
Moving along with this story, Cassie called
Michael to bring help from their friends because she wasn’t going to help Philippe
get to the hospital; Philippe was mad because everyone that had been with
Michael and Rowen at the library came along; and it was his stupid attempt to
make jokes and save face that led to the kick in the mouth. That should have been the end of the story –
at least for tonight, but while Michael and Rowen left with Cassie while their
friends helped Philippe, it wasn’t long before they found out that Philippe
couldn’t keep his mouth shut; he said some nasty things about Michael and Rowen
that got their friends mad too – and led to Shayne ‘helping’ Philippe to have
another fall.
Translation – he hit Philippe for saying
something nasty about Rowen. Note to
Philippe – not all computer geeks are weak or wimpy – a fact that he ought to
have known after Serena found out that Shayne is a very talented athlete. This is where I should add that Shayne
shouldn’t have done that – and I’m being bad for not being sorry about Philippe
getting hurt tonight – several times over.
Cassie is done with putting up with him
anymore, though, and she’s not going to let Michael and the rest of their
friends try to keep Philippe from bugging her anymore. Now we’ll have to wait and see whether Philippe
keeps trying to bother Cassie or she’ll need to keep stopping him until he does
figure out that he’ll never be able to force her to be his friend – or anything
else.
While we wait to find out what happens in
that drama, I’ll wrap this up; spend a bit of time doing something to make up
for these bad thoughts I’ve been having; and then get some sleep.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
