Ethan:
I was considering writing a blurb or
commentary about Martin Luther King Day, but that seems wrong to me. Sure, the Magi of the Light have known their
fair share of historical injustices over the millennia, but I can’t personally
relate to the social issues that are still problems today in so many places in
our country and around the world.
Then again, that is yet another reason for
why Ascension of the Light is so necessary.
I’m not suggesting that we’ll solve all of the problems in the world,
since even after ascension; the dark is never totally vanquished – only pushed
back into the shadows for a time. That’s
wandering off-topic a bit; and my point was simply that the problems of the
past and present being talked about today will not be concerns for us after the
ascension – at least for a millennium or more.
I’ll also mention that we do not have any
ceremonies or events of any kind here in town – a fact that was more-obvious to
us after talking with Cassie and Michael about the events that they got
involved with on campus. Some of their
friends found that strange or even wrong, but as Cassie explained to them, we
have very few black neighbors in our town or area; and it would be insulting to
host big events that would be meaningless to most of us. That fact might be taken the wrong way, but racism
just doesn’t happen here; and try to remember that the Magi of the Light of
today are descended from pretty much every race from ancient times through to
now. We don’t have racism issues here
because we believe that everyone should be treated with the same love and
respect.
Okay, now I’m even scaring the junior Magi
Master with all of that, so I’m going to stop now; and get back to my bedtime
archives reading.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
That is all true – and you’re scaring the
sister too; so I won’t add to that; and go back to my research.
Oh wait – we also played at the lab this
morning; played with our friends this afternoon; and played with Mom and Dad in
the office after dinner – meaning that we played at our work and studying. A time-phase helped us with getting done
early – if you don’t count the research and reading that Ethan and I are doing
from our beds just for fun, but I really do want to get back to that; so I’ll
do that now – and then eventually get some sleep.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
