Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 4, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 7th Anniversary, Isabelle and Andrew Jennings!

Jenna’s birthday dinner and party last night were great – and we can’t even report any major tween drama issues; since the usual troublemakers in our group of friends didn’t do anything that seriously-annoyed any of the girls.  Additional male-adult supervision had a lot to do with that; and we’re glad that everyone was able to have a blast from dinnertime through until the guys headed home after the campfire ended at around eleven o’clock.  Ehlana and Naomi stayed up much-later than Aiden and I did after we got home to his house, but girl-chat details are not going to be offered here; and we definitely will not offer any commentary on what our parents might have done with their kid-free night!  We should add that Ryan’s birthday dinner apparently went well, but it also ended early; since our youngest cousins and their little friends were out of steam before dark.

Aiden and I might have had a better start to our day than Ehlana and Naomi did, but we got more sleep; and Tai Chi by the river with Cassie and Michael was really great too.  Ditto that for breakfast with Aiden’s family, but Jenna’s post-sleepover breakfast was sure to be crazier – especially with a small gang of girls taking turns getting ready for church.  The top news from church and Sunday school is the fun everyone had with celebrating Isabelle and Andrew’s special day, and while we didn’t really get involved beyond offering best wishes and hugs; we are glad that they’re having a great day.  We can’t really say the same for the rest of our day.  Naomi and Aiden came home with us from church and had lunch with us, but then we had a gang of classmates join us for a study afternoon and evening that was a lot of work with short breaks for two swims and a barbeque dinner that Mom and Dad had help with from some of the other parents.  The studying doesn’t sound exciting because it wasn’t, but we’ve done what we can to help our friends; and they are all as ready as possible for our first round of exams or tests tomorrow.

We need to be ready for those tests, so that’s all we have for tonight.  After our friends headed for their homes, we went straight on to bath or Jacuzzi time; Mom isn’t letting us do any work or even a Magi lesson tonight; and that’s why we’re going to crash and nap starting right now!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
