Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 22nd Birthday, Julian Sparks!
Ehlana is laughing at me as we get started on this double update, and that doesn’t seem fair to me; since she was just as happy with the cuddle time she shared with Aiden as I was with spending that time with Naomi. Facts are not required for that, though; and that was true for all of the jokes that were aimed at Naomi and me while Ehlana and Aiden barely got teased at all because they’re the quiet, good members of our little foursome. We should really start from the rest of our story from Friday; so let’s get to all of the news.
The trip to St. Louis was long, but we managed to keep entertained – including watching a movie; listening to music, and chatting with Mom and Dad. We only took one break for gas and food-to-go; so we reached out hotel in time to have a visit with May, Lee, their parents, and the rest of the gang that were at the hotel with them. Cassie and Michael were busy with May and Lee too, but we managed to fit in some cameo visits with everyone before Michael and some of the other guys went home with Lee and May had Cassie and the rest of the bridal party girls staying at the hotel to support her. After a really long day, we were ready to wrap up our day and get some sleep by shortly after midnight; and Mom and Dad didn’t even bother to pretend that they didn’t know that we had co-ed sleepovers in our rooms. Try not to find that freaky; since we’re not doing anything we’re too-young to be interested in anyway.
Moving along, Tai Chi on Saturday morning was awesome with the extra exercise buddies. We were part of a gang for breakfast; and then we had some spare time to go for a swim in the pool and explore a bit while some of our favorite people were busy with getting ready for the wedding. May and Lee’s wedding adventures were different from what we’re used to at home, but we loved all of those experiences; and we’ll leave it up to Cassie and others for details in their journals; since Cassie and Michael were directly involved in most of that fun – from carriage rides through to the end of the reception. We do want to mention a few of the highlights that we really loved a lot – the awesome dinner, the duets that Cassie and Michael offered for the first three dances of the night, and the karaoke fun that Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies got in on and that impressed our audience as much as Cassie’s and Michael’s duets.
Naomi mentioned our bedtime plans; the c0-ed cuddle time and nap break kept us very happy through to this morning; and then we were kept busy with getting ready for the day; packing and loading up the minivan; and getting to the restaurant for the post-wedding brunch. May and Lee were not with us for that meal even though they hadn’t yet flown out for the east coast and their eventual overnight flight to Europe, but we don’t need any details about what the newlyweds might have been interested in doing instead! ;^)
That meal was fun, but fairly-short; since some of the wedding guests needed to get to the airport or be driven there to catch their outbound flights. Mom and Dad took that opportunity to say our goodbyes without offending May’s or Lee’s parents; and Cassie, Michael, Rowen, and Tim headed for home then too. Some passenger swapping was involved for parts of the trip, but we were all interested in getting home in time for the late buffet at the Inn – and the birthday celebration that Jillian was hosting for Julian and his family and their friends.
We managed to get home on-time, but couldn’t stop at our homes first; so we enjoyed that dinner – which for us also meant spending some time with our cousins; and then we headed home and got to work on unloading the minivan and then getting to work on the post-trip chores. Brianna dropped Silkie off and had another visit with us; Dad had work to do; and we helped Mom with the chores until she sent us upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time. That pretty much brings us up to now; so let’s wrap this up because we’re tired and ready to get some sleep.
Before we do that, we should mention that we missed the first co-ed ball game of the season on Friday evening while we were away, but Aunt Leanne, Brianna, and their small cheer squad still managed to support the Witch Falls Warriors as they earned a big, fifteen-to-three win over Sheldon’s Soldiers. We don’t really have a problem with missing out on the Saturday chores, but the weather was great on Saturday; and we missed out on an afternoon canoe ride that the Carringtons and Everetts had fun with – along with some friends. We missed church and Sunday school this morning too, and that feels weird, but there was some rain around home earlier today too; so most of our favorite people had a lazy, quiet afternoon while we were on the road. Finally, we didn’t mention that we weren’t able to spend any time with Dawn while in St. Louis. Yes, she’s moved into her apartment, but she was also away and working all weekend; so getting together even for a short visit wasn’t an option. We might not ever see her place except through pictures or videos; since it isn’t very likely that we’ll have any reason to drive up there again anytime soon.
It is time for us to call it a night and get some sleep, though, so we’re out of here.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
