Ethan and Ehlana:
The chores, barbeque dinner, evening play time, campfire, and camping night added up to an awesome end-of-school-year celebration; and we loved every minute of the work and fun! Highlights included the food, all of the play time, the campfire music that included our offerings with Naomi and Aiden and the duets from Cassie and Michael. Our favorite new grads didn’t stay for the camping, but they haven’t done that very often since starting college; so we had to settle for hanging out with the rest of the kids, tweens, and teens. We stayed up late; got away with co-ed camping because Naomi is just that good; and we really only had naps anyway before getting up again for Tai Chi by the river shortly after dawn.
As for our adventures of the day so far today, we had a blast of work and fun around breakfast; the baseball adventures began with Brianna and Faith’s team and first game of the day; and we took turns with baseball watching and more chores at home – at least until lunchtime when our own games began. Out of five games today, our family teams won three and lost two. We commiserated with Leah and Hailey for their loss, but Zack and Eli were having too much fun to care about their loss; and Caleb and Sebastian went along with their cousins to be cool. Ehlana and Naomi had their Pizzeria pizza lunch before their noon game; Aiden and I ate while watching them play and win; and then we were motivated to earn a win too thanks to our favorite cheerleaders.
That brings us up to now when we’re getting cleaned up and changed ahead of dinner. A thunderstorm is imminent, but won’t last long; so we’re going ahead with our plans for an evening canoe ride, campfire, and second camping night with a smaller group of friends and cousins. The rest of our friends have other plans – most of them related to Father’s Day tomorrow. We have plans too, but none of our parents have a problem with getting kid-free nights – and that includes our parents because they’ll mostly have a kid-free house except for the occasional washroom break. We don’t have a major gang for dinner, but do need to get downstairs soon to help out with the work; so we’re out of here!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
