Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden:
Happy 7th Birthday, Yvonne York!
Naomi’s cousin is having a happy day, but as with our own family; our only involvement was through sending a gift; and Naomi wasn’t home for the phone call her parents had with Yvonne and her family this morning.
Our adventures with a gang of collegians have been a blast – though our outdoor time ended up being limited due to cold weather. Compared to the five-to-six feet of snow that was dumped on Buffalo New York and area, we’re blessed; so we also won’t complain about our weather! ‘Snowmageddon’ seems a bit extreme for that snow event, since that kind of lake-effect snow is a seasonal fact of life in Buffalo, but we’re not surprised about the need that reporters have for sensationalizing every story. We’re not suggesting that getting so much snow in a day isn’t serious – only that a bit of perspective should be used; since some of us actually remember previous storms in Buffalo. Look back into our own journals; since we mentioned the most-recent big storm for that area because of social media pictures that were posted such as the beer fridge that someone built for themselves instead of clearing the snow from a front or back door to their home. For the record, yes, our family business has already sent help to the area; so we’re not just writing about the story.
Moving along, Tai Chi was indoors, and a bit crowded with May and Lee joining our gang. We really loved that – especially having Cassie and Michael with us. You won’t be surprised to find out that we did a major breakfast, and the four tweens in the house helped out both before and after the meal with all of the work. The girls collectively voted for shopping after that, so we had a major gang with all of the collegian guests at all homes meet up at the Galleria. We can assure you that every store in the Galleria and most of the stores around town appreciated our visits to their shops; and the members of Naomi and the Holiday Harmonies appreciated all of the Christmas album sales too! ;^) We only picked up a few things for ourselves, but that was mostly because Ehlana and Naomi are waiting for the sales next weekend. That’s true for the rest of the shoppers in our gang, but they collectively managed a lot of purchases anyway.
We were home in time for lunch, and while we were gone, Mom resumed her holiday cooking and baking; so the kitchen smelled great with the scents of the season! She also had a pot of homemade soup ready to go for that meal – along with bakery mini-sub buns and fixings for those sandwiches. The dining room and sunroom tables were needed to have room for everyone; and then our afternoon included chilly walks on the trails at the park; playground fun for cousins; football at the park; football-watching in the living room; and video gaming in the lounge. Cassie and Michael also had some babysitting time with Jake’s and Rebecca’s kids while their parents were busy at the Inn, Pizzeria, or farm; and then we had another major meal that Mom and Dad hosted as the pre-cooking work wrapped up and we all got ready for a variety of evening entertainment options.
For us, that meant an early-evening with Cassie’s and Michael’s house guests while they returned kids to their homes and helped to get them off to sleep for the night. We had continuing football-watching in the living room; Christmas movies in the lounge; and co-ed cuddling time that the four of us were happy to get in on. When Cassie and Michael got home, it was only long-enough for the collegians to get ready to go out to Sheldon’s for a few hours. They’re all doing that now; we obviously couldn’t join in on that adventure; and we’ve been watching more Christmas movies since then while Mom and Dad opted to go to bed early because they’re exhausted. We are not going to stay up until our collegians get home, and might not even last through the current movie. We’ve had an awesome day, though, so that’s okay; and we’re really happy to wrap up the day with another co-ed sofa sleepover. I want to get back to the cuddle time with Naomi now, so that’s all for this report.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
