Ethan and Ehlana:
It is tough to pick fun at the lab or archives over playing with our friends on the nicest days, but that’s what we did again today after a pretty good day at school. We still love our work at the lab, so we did keep entertained and happy through until dinnertime with Mom and Dad that we even managed to be home for on-time! Band practice with Naomi and Aiden might have been a motivating factor for that, but it worked; and Mom and Dad don’t seem to mind our practices too-much – at least so far! ;^)
Our news of the day is about our band and song choices for both the festival talent contest and Halloween. We’re going with at least some different songs for the contest so that we can show off the ‘harmonies’ part of our group; and we also have to keep in mind that the judges are going to be a slightly-different audience to the spectators. With that in mind, we’re working up four songs for the contest – ‘When You Believe’ from The Prince of Egypt; ‘You’ll Be in My Heart’ from The Lion King; ‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman; and ‘What Are Words’ by Chris Medina. For our Halloween-theme songs, we’re working up a mash-up with some lyrics changes to make it fun for our home town; “I Put a Spell on You’ from Hocus Pocus is an obvious must for us; ‘Black Magic’ by Little Mix will be fun if we can adjust those lyrics a bit for us too; and ‘Remember Me This Way’ from Casper is the first ballad we’ve picked so far to use at the school dance that Naomi is sure we’ll play at least a set at for her ultimate plan to succeed! Fifth Harmony’s ‘I’m in Love with a Monster’ from Monster High might make the list soon too, but that’s another song that will need some adaptation for a band with two guys and two girls; and we haven’t worked that out yet.
We did make a lot of musical progress tonight, though, and then Mom did a group Magi lesson with us; we took Silkie for a walk while seeing our best friends home; and then wrapped up our day with some family business work in the office. Now we’re pretty much ready to crash and nap, and that is an option; so that’s all for this report!
