Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden:
We’re up late because we aren’t ready to end all of the awesome that has been our Friday adventures! While the football team’s home game win tonight is the top story around town, and we went to the game with some friends and family after the family-and-friends’ dinner that Mom and Dad hosted this week. We had a good day at school too, and now Naomi is telling me to get to our top news of the day – so I will!
Naomi has come up with a brilliant plan to get the rest of us into school dances with her this year instead of having to wait until we’re in Grade Seven. With that goal in mind, we are going to start an official band; and we’ve already agreed to the band name – Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies. We’ll have a Christmas version of that name too – Naomi and the Holiday Harmonies; and Naomi’s – our – plans are already moving right along. Backing up just a bit, it was news that we got from school today that led Naomi to think about all of this – with the information package for the fall festival offering her the key to her interest in getting us into the school dances that started with getting our school calendars.
Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies will be signing up for the festival talent contest; we like our chances for doing well and maybe even winning; and then we’ll springboard from that into an invitation to play at the school’s Halloween dance. Playing at the Haunted Halloween Walk would be a bonus; and if we can manage all of that; we’ll be on the way to getting gigs for the rest of the school dances. In addition to that, we’re going to book some studio sessions at the media studio in the Galleria over the next couple of months; we’ll record some songs and maybe even shoot for a couple of music videos using their green screen studio; and hope that having digital singles or EP’s will boost our new band’s profile.
Some music play time was needed tonight after the game, but while we started to talk about this after school; we also still went out to enjoy the hot weather with biking on the trails and a river swim here at home. Our Friday dinners are always a lot of fun, and while our football team still isn’t competing at the same level as when Michael and Tim – or Kyle – played, they can still win games; and played well tonight in a competitive battle that went our way tonight. Our music fun tonight has been a highlight, and now we’re winding down toward nap time – or trying to get there – with a movie and quality cuddle time that will definitely end with a co-ed sleepover.
If Naomi’s band plans work out as well as we all hope, then this will be an ongoing story for us, but that’s all we have for tonight; so stay tuned for that while we get back to the cuddling, movie, and near-future nap time!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
