Ethan and Ehlana:
The rest of my story from last night would be scary-rated for most of the girls our age; since Miles and Joshua were in top form while if they were being honest; wishing that Miles had invited the girls too. Sure, they haven’t crossed over yet, so their idea of having fun with the girls would have been a disaster, but they’re also not far from changing their opinions of at least some of the girls; so I’ll hope that they also figure out that making those girls that they like mad at them is always a bad idea! ;^)
Despite the not-so-fun games being played and the jokes and commentary that I didn’t find funny, we did have some fun with the video gaming, barbeque dinner, evening outdoors that included a campfire, and the back yard camping and more video gaming on portable systems. We stayed up too-late; Aiden and I still got up early for Tai Chi; and we helped out with getting breakfast for our friends before the rest of them even got the first wake-up call. The morning feeding frenzy will not be commented on here, but I will suggest that Miles’ sister in particular deserves an award for playing nice with her little brother and a couple of our friends because they really, really didn’t deserve that generosity.
Ehlana’s news from last night and this morning wasn’t scary – but could have been if they’d opted for a sleepover at Naomi’s house. Zack and Eli were being themselves, though, so what ended up happening was that Ehlana ended up hosting a girls’ night with Naomi, Sophia, Brianna, Faith, Amelia, Leah, and Hailey all staying for a movie and sleepover! That really wasn’t planned – it evolved starting not long after Aiden and I headed for Miles’ home – with the original idea of giving Mom and Dad a kid-free night. Unfortunately for our parents, once Zack and Eli got wind of the potential for their kind of fun at Eli’s house with two of their favorite prank targets; other cousins got involved; and the end results were the gang of girls at our house and a gang of boys in the Carrington and Everett back yards. That’s also why the girls did not opt for camping and went with the added protection of a house and parental support.
There were two separate group dinners – a barbeque at our house and Pizzeria pizza for the guys because Aunt Leanne didn’t want to cook for her pack of ravenous wolves. For the record, I’ve been assured by three of those girls that they did not have a problem with missing out on that pizza dinner – especially since pizza day at school will be back on Friday! Mom had some help with the girls after dinner, but there weren’t any mini-makeovers – the Moms just got in on the movie-and-snacks fun; and then there was an extended girl chat time before the visiting mothers headed for their homes; and Ehlana, Naomi, and the other girls headed for bed – a lot earlier than I did. I also know what Ehlana is thinking right now, but let’s not comment on the fact that yes, I would have rather gone to sleep early if that had been a co-ed nap with Naomi!
That brings us up to today – though I should include that Ehlana had more fun with Tai Chi and breakfast at our house with the bigger exercise group and the pancakes and bacon breakfast that Dad cooked for them. My school day began with a hug and kiss that Naomi shared with me; I then got razzed by the guys as usual; and I earned more laughs by acting as though I was too-dazzled to notice being the butt of those jokes. Naomi was happy to play along, and we got away with another half-dozen hugs and kisses before the end of the school day while she ‘reinforced’ my state of bedazzlement! I’m pretty sure that we had a good day at school with the classwork and breaks too, but since that part of my day was a recurring highlight; those details don’t seem very important to me! ;^)
While the weather tempted us to play with our friends after school, Ehlana and I really wanted to get back into her lab and my archives, so that’s what we did after school. We stayed there too long; Mom had to feed us mini subs for dinner because that’s all we had time for before game night at the Inn; and then my fun with Naomi resumed – along with the sidelines entertainment that pretty much everyone else had with our regular hugs and kisses. Naomi eventually told everyone that kissing me was part of her game night strategy – getting everyone else to underestimate our team right through until it was too-late and we won the junior championship to start off the new game night season. Miranda thought she was brilliant; and was also disappointed when Uncle Adam and Aunt Leanne won the senior title despite her partnering with Mom to try and get the first win too.
We had fun at the Inn, Mom followed that up with a Magi lesson that Naomi and Aiden stopped in for on their way to their homes. We ended up walking them home after that while taking Silkie for a walk too; and then we worked in the office for an hour on the family business; and then Mom sent us up to bed. Now we’re just winding down with the usual bedtime computing and twin chat fun, and we’re pretty much done with all of that now too; so that’s all we have for this update. We’ll go and get some sleep now; and hope that our first weekend of the school year will continue to be awesome!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
