Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - September 4, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

The Labor Day festivities have been great today in a big part thanks to our visiting collegians as most of them experience the event for the first time!  We’ve spent more time with May, Lee, Madelana, and Stefan more than the rest of their friends, but we have picked up everything we’ve been near-enough to catch; and the reactions are both varied and always-entertaining.

For today, our day began with Tai Chi by the river with most of our favorite exercise buddies and a half-dozen or more spectators.  Breakfast was a crazy-busy adventure mixed in with getting ready for the church service at the park.  We had fun with all of that, but even the teen-led service and beyond as we were drafted to help out with getting food and drinks picked up for the younger cousins and kids.  There was time for some of us to relax when the co-ed championship game began at a bit after noon, but Ehlana and Naomi joined the girls for the cheer squad support that Miranda and Cassie led for the Witch Falls Willows.  Our town’s top two cheerleaders entertained everyone as much as always, and while their efforts didn’t really likely help the Willows with their big win over the Aspens; the cheer squad competition might live on in future stories more than the baseball action – partially thanks to the ‘hot college girls’ that Cassie and Rowen brought with them to help Miranda to earn the unanimous cheer squad victory!

After the ball game, we moved on to a frozen treats snack break; followed that up with a swim; and then we played for the rest of the afternoon.  There were a couple of little rain showers moments, but nothing that got in the way of the fun; and we didn’t have any issues with the weather during dinner or the dance tonight.  Yes, dancing with Naomi was a highlight of my day; and that was just as true for Ehlana and Aiden – and probably all of our favorite couples.  We packed up our day camp about an hour ago; and now we’re taking turns grabbing showers and getting ready for an indoor sleepover because we’ve had enough of camping; and some of the parents want to have some time with visiting kids and teens.  We have a group of tweens and younger teens here with us tonight – along with Mom, Dad, and four collegians; so we’re planning on wrapping up our day with a movie in the lounge.

We need to get ready for that soon, since we’re hosting; so that’s all for this report.  There is still one more day of fun to go; so we’ll try for a more-detailed update for the entire weekend sometime after our weekend guests head out – sometime after we all get to enjoy the usual shopping and buffet-at-the-Inn adventures!  Stay tuned for that; and we’ll get back to the fun with our family and friends.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
