Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - July 25, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 4th Birthday, Tamara Carter!

Happy 22nd Birthday, Vanessa Sparks!

We didn’t have any involvement in either of those birthdays; and only mention them because we heard that the rain we’re getting today has messed with Tamara’s special day and Vanessa had the day off from her store because of her birthday.

Our news of the day should start with having Valerie and Marcus being left behind when their parents headed home last night.  Some kid-free time for the anniversary couple didn’t really have anything to do with the change in plans – though our honorary aunt and uncle didn’t seem too upset with the chance for some kid-free time!  Valerie led the way for getting parental approval to stay with us; the girls in our family helped her out with that; and now we’ll have Valerie and Marcus here for at least the coming week.

For last night, they both ended up at the ‘kid’ sleepover, so we didn’t see them after the dinner at the Inn.  We had fun with the teens and tweens instead – including video gaming that really impressed with our guests thanks to the huge screen and projector.  We loved the movie and co-ed cuddle time after that; and we again had another too-late night that only left time for naps.

Tai Chi this morning was early and indoors due to the rain; breakfast was a crazy blast of busy; and the tweens in the house had to do the clean-up while the teens all headed out to summer jobs.  Thanks to the ongoing rain, we needed to be indoors for most of the morning, but we did that at several places.  We took a small gang for a tour at the lab; shopped at the Galleria and had our morning snack break there; and then we did some video gaming to keep busy until lunchtime.  Mom hosted a large gang of kids and teens for that meal; and then a break in the rain allowed us to go for a bike ride and a couple of swims before we headed indoors again at several houses ahead of dinnertime when the rain returned.

Our guests and some friends are split up tonight.  Mom and Dad got us, Naomi, Aiden, and six kids including Valerie and Marcus.  Mom opted for a lasagna and sides dinner; the tweens were again put to work before and after dinner; and now we’re getting ready to join the evening entertainment in the lounge.  Video gaming has resumed while we’re doing this, but that is going to wrap up by nine; and then we’ll watch a movie.  After a lot of late nights in a row; we’re also hoping that we’ll be able to have an earlier night, but we’ll let you know whether that works out for us or not.  The four tweens in the house are also hoping for co-ed sleepovers after the ‘kids’ get to bed, but that might not happen either; so I’ll try not to get too-hopeful about that possibility.

I do need to get back to the video gaming and Ehlana and Naomi will keep the younger girls busy until we get to the movie time; so that’s all we have for this report.

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
