Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - July 10, 2022

Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden:

Happy 21st Birthday, Adaira Wingborough!

We have rarely mentioned Garrett’s sister in our journals, but since we have been thinking about her today – and also delivered best birthday wishes and a family gift to here while at church this morning; let’s do a bit more than mention her special day.

To do that, we need to start with reporting that Adaira is unique and very special.  She is the only case that we’re aware of for a Witch Falls descendant that was a latent that has gained Magi talents without also gaining conscious control of those abilities or even being aware of them.  Adaira has developed passive use of empathic and telepathic talents!  Her use of them is so low that the use of her abilities is barely detectable – to the point where only the very strongest Magi in town can even guess that it is happening.  Those talents really just add up to give Adaira the ability to understand people and even animals, and while that can be good and bad for her; she naturally uses her unknown abilities for good and the Light.

Adaira’s Magi talents are definitely affecting her personal plans for the future.  She is spending the summer working at the furniture store; and will be joining her aunt, uncle, and brother in the business after she graduates from college next year.  We are not going to include any details, but will point out that Adaira’s passively-active Magi talents were awakened at college; Adaira is now finding it difficult to live in big cities and deal with thousands of people on-campus.  Her father is apparently very unhappy with her choice to come and live here, but she is happy here; and really wants to be close to Garrett, Jenny, and the rest of her hometown family.  Finally, before we move on, Mom, Stephanie, and, eventually, Cassie are going to quietly keep an eye on Adaira.  She has not yet been told about her talents, but that may change; and they will work with her anyway; since she does need help to deal with consequences of her abilities – which are a mild version of what all Magi empaths deal with due to sensing strong emotions from everyone around us.

Okay, let’s move on to our news of the day.

Tai Chi by the river helped to get our day off to a good start; we had an easy-breakfast with fresh fruits and bakery treats; and then the church service and Sunday school adventures kept us busy for the rest of the morning.  Our lunch break included the Carringtons and Ayres aunts, uncles, and cousins; and then our afternoon included biking, swimming, and back yard play time with a small gang of cousins and friends.  It got very hot out – around one-hundred; so we stayed close to the river most of the time; and then we cleaned up and got ready for the late buffet dinner at the Inn.  That meal was the food highlight of the day; we had fun with Naomi, Aiden, and the rest of the ‘kids’ at our table; and then we came back home with Mom and Dad.  Mom did a Magi lesson with the four of us while Dad got to work in the office; we followed that up with a music practice and bath or Jacuzzi time; and now we’re in the tent after wrapping up our evening with a bedtime snack and drinks that Dad took a break to do with us in the sunroom.

We’re now settling in for some quality co-ed cuddle time.  That won’t last long, since we’re all tired and ready to crash and nap soon; so let’s just end this report now; and we’ll do that right now!

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan Proctor and gang – junior Magi of the Light!
