Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - December 3, 2021

Naomi, Ethan, Ehlana, and Aiden:

I’m taking over this report – mostly so that we can get it done while Ethan multi-tasks cuddling with me! ;^)

Our final day of school for the week was pretty good, and the only news we have worth mentioning is that we are not signing up to do special music at the Christmas pageant this year.  Yes, we were asked, but want to take a break and give other kids the chance to show off their talents.  We still expect to be drafted for at least one song at the church for one of the holiday services; so we won’t be able to completely escape the spotlight.  The weather continued to be awesome today, so extra outdoor time at school was an option; we went biking after being set free for the weekend; and then Ethan, Ehlana, and Aiden packed overnight bags and came over to my house in time to head for Pinehurst and the Christmas parade.  Mom couldn’t come with us while busy at the salon tonight, but Dad had lots of parental support from the other parents going along with their kids – including my parents and some aunts and uncles.

We all love the Pinehurst parade because it is the only one we have locally that happens at night.  Seeing all of the floats and other vehicles in lights is amazing; and we had more-fun tonight thanks to that still-warmer weather.  Sure, we heard some mild complaints about it not feeling like Christmas without snow and freezing temperatures, but we’ll be okay with saving up the snow for when we’re on break – not that we really expect much snow; and we could manage to have fun if it stays warm and outdoor biking and play time is an option instead!

We had dinner while at the parade; enjoyed the show; and then we stayed for an hour or so to enjoy the games, treats, and a visit with Santa.  Ethan didn’t get as red as the big guy’s suit, but Santa – and most of the people near-enough to hear – found my request to get Ethan for Christmas very funny.  I don’t see what the problem is with that request, but Santa didn’t make any promises; so the only way Ethan will end up under my tree on Christmas Eve will be if I tie him up and put him there myself. ;^)

We didn’t get home until a bit after ten o’clock; we split up to get ready for bed; and now we’re watching a Christmas movie and winding down to the co-ed sofa sleepover that will accidentally happen on-purpose.

I’m ready to focus on the movie and cuddling with Ethan, and that’s enough for this report whether Ethan and Ehlana like that or not; so, until next time...

...this is Naomi and the gang formerly known as the Christmas Spirits; live from the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!

P.S. My picks for Christmas videos are:
