Happy 10th Birthday, Joshua!
Naomi and I are doing this update because Ethan and Aiden are busy with their guy friends at Joshua’s party. We’re at Naomi’s house for the night; and don’t need to know what my parents are doing with a kid-free weeknight! ;^)
The weather has been great again today with a high in the mid-seventies. That worked out great for bonus outdoor time while at school, and while we love hanging out with our two favorite boys; we had fun biking and playing with our girlfriends after school instead while the guys went biking as a start to Joshua’s party. Yes, we did see them around, but didn’t get together at all; and made sure that we avoided any pre-tween drama today. While the Reynolds weren’t hosting a co-ed party tonight, Naomi and I were still in on one gift for Joshua with Ethan and Aiden; and we did take the time to wish him a happy birthday – as did some of the other girls. We won’t get into that because those gifts got each of us razzed by the rest of our friends; and we also don’t really want to talk about why some of our friends like Joshua more than the rest of us do. That will change in a year or two, but then it could be longer for Miles, Joshua, and one or two of their best friends; since they also have the talent to be the most-annoying for all of the girls our age.
Moving along, we’ll leave the birthday party report for Ethan to offer with our next report, but we know that the party at his house began with a pizzeria pizza dinner that they needed to hurry home for from the park. We were already at Naomi’s house by then, but always know where Ethan and Aiden are; and could sense the rush from the park to the Reynolds’ home. We didn’t have pizza for dinner, but loved the spaghetti and sides; and didn’t even have any of the usual dinnertime problems with Zack and Eli – possibly because they were threatened with doing the clean-up on their own if they made any major food messes.
Zack’s here for the night too – an addition that was made after it was too-late for Naomi to have this sleepover with me instead, but while the boys haven’t been little angels all night; they’ve been better than usual because they got busy with gaming and other entertainment and forgot to try and mess with us for hours at a time. We’ve had a fun evening that included some show-watching with Naomi’s parents; a long girl chat with her Mom; and some music play time. We fit in the bit of homework we had too; have watched some music videos while having our bedtime chat; and now we’re pretty much ready to call it a night and get some sleep. We don’t expect that’ll be an option for Ethan and Aiden anytime soon, but if they’re in really tough shape in the morning, it is a home-school day; and helping them out with some fatigue healing will be an option.
One of us – and Ethan – will let you know how that goes with the next update, and while Naomi is suddenly grinning at that idea; it’ll still likely be me doing that report with him – unless she can manage to get parental approval for switching sleepover buddies tomorrow night! ;^)
