Ehlana and Ethan:
This won’t be the warmest day of the week, but the high was near-sixty; and that was enough to have us picking biking and playing at the park with our friends over working at the lab and archives. We biked the trails around town and at the park, but while we wanted to check out the trail being built that will eventually end up at Quarry Lake; that wasn’t an option yet because the base is still settling; and it was too-soft even for kids to ride on without messing it up. We stopped at the Emporium for snacks and drinks; had that break at the park near the river; and only had about twenty minutes of play time at the playground to go along with the biking.
We were on our own for dinner with Mom and Dad, and after a home-school day with extra cousins and friends at our house; that seemed very quiet by comparison. Our work-study highlight was our Magi lesson with Mom – a transmutation exercise that was also a bit of an experiment too. Bath or Jacuzzi time tied with our music practice for the rest of our evening entertainment; and we’ve been winding down since getting clean again with our bedtime twin chat and the rest of our usual computing – including this update.
There isn’t really any news to add tonight, but we should mention that Cassie, Michael, and their friends are busy this week getting ready for mid-term exams. Compared to that; our plans for a lot of outdoor play time through the rest of this week will be awesome! Yes, Cassie and Michael are having fun every day too, but that’s in a making the best of their academic situation. Cassie’s experiences with the approaching mid-terms from the perspective of a T.A. and being at the forefront of helping students with getting ready for those tests – as well as getting ready to mark hundreds of exams.
Okay, she’s been helping students to get ready for tests and exams for a decade or more, but you know what we mean; and that work is making this round of mid-terms different for her.
We’ll have more on that next week as they get into their exams, but that’s all we have for tonight. It’s getting late; we’re tired; and ready to put our toys away and get some sleep – so we will!
