Ehlana and Ethan:
Mother Nature saved the best day of our March break for last – at least for the sunny and warm, but all things considered; we’re not going to file any complaints and simply be grateful for another good day.
Starting with the news from last night, a long day for Aiden’s parents at the bakery led to an almost-no-work pizzeria pizza dinner and bakery leftover desserts. We followed that up with a walk to the park and some play time there; a girls-choice movie that was Hailey-and-Leah rated; and then we wrapped up our day with a co-ed sofa sleepover after Aiden’s parents went to sleep and Hailey and Leah were in Hailey’s room falling asleep to another movie. We put a second movie on to go along with the co-ed cuddling, but none of us lasted to the end of it; and we were glad for the extra rest.
Tai Chi by the river for four at Aiden’s house was awesome; so was the breakfast with the Drapers; and then it was a rush to get ready for church and then there in time for the service. We walked there; picked up some family and friends along the way; and then we enjoyed the service and Sunday school. For the teens and older kids, Sunday school was all about getting the set and props ready for the Easter sunrise service, so we had fun with that; and then we headed home with Mom and Dad. They were very happy to, and as always; no details are required from kid-free adventures! ;^)
Naomi and Aiden spent the afternoon with us – including at lunchtime, but stores were open because of the school break; so three-of-four of their parents were busy. The fourth brought Eli along for the lunch with our family – a pot-luck meal that included the Carringtons, Everetts, and Ayres gangs too. We – the kids – had a picnic by the river, but the parents used the sunroom and kept an eye on us from where it was warmer and more-comfortable. An afternoon biking and park play adventure kept us entertained for the afternoon, but while parents and younger siblings and cousins were around for most of that fun; we spent about half of that time hanging out with our friends and biking the trails. Mom and Dad only had two kids with them when we went home for dinner; that was an easy-meal that allowed for a quick clean-up; and then we all worked or studied in the office for a couple of hours.
Tomorrow is an at-school day, so we wrapped up early; bath or Jacuzzi time was required before bedtime; and now we’re just wrapping up our nightly twin bedtime chat and this update before going to get some sleep.
This wasn’t a March break that we could have expected or hoped for, but life doesn’t always go as planned even for junior Magi Masters. We have come out of this past week or so with a stronger urge to put family and friends first and keep love and joy in our lives, though, so from that perspective; maybe we should consider this one of our best-ever school holidays.
That is all we have for tonight; so, until next time...
