Ehlana and Ethan:
After starting the month with two days with birthday entertainment highlights; Christmas seemed to be in the air again today – mostly because we spent our after-school afternoon having a band practice. We don’t actually have a new name for our fledgling band, but the discards so far include Naomi and the Grinches and Naomi and the Red-Nosed Reindeer. We’ll keep you posted on that, but it was the Christmas music and time with our best friends that made our practice a highlight of the day.
We had fun at school that included some holiday entertainment too, but don’t have anything newsworthy to write about from those hours away from home – or our evening study session in the office. Our Magi lesson was fun and challenging, but not one of the really cool lessons or practices – like walking through walls or time phases. The time with Mom and Dad are always special for us, though – even when we’re all doing serious work.
Our thoughts as we share our bedtime twin chat and this update are a bit on the serious side even as we’re happy after a pretty good day. Pandemic milestones of sixty-five million confirmed cases and one-and-a-half million deaths worldwide again reminds us that there continue to be more and more people in need or who are grieving or worried about loved ones. We have two more confirmed cases here – within the same family already in self-isolation, but those cases are all mild – at least so far; so we still aren’t personally-affected by any losses. Don’t take that the wrong way, since our Magi-powered empathy and other senses do have a strong impact on us. That’s most-true for Cassie and Michael; since they are living in a city where they do have direct interaction with people who have been sick or have been dealing with family or friends’ illness or loss.
We don’t want to make this report too-much of a downer after a happy day, yet that contrast seems to describe our life here at home compared to all of the bad that’s happening around the world. We don’t have an exclusive on happiness, but there are billions of people who could use more love and joy this year; and we wish that everyone could have the simple daily happiness that we’re blessed to have here with our family and friends.
That might seem to be an impossible wish, but this is the season for miracles; and our first Christmas song pick for today is also a reminder that the impossible has happened in the past – and can give us hope for the future!
It Can Happen Again – Collin Raye
Our second pick today continues our musical offer of hope and love for everyone this Christmas.
