Ehlana and Ethan:
We have a lot to write about just from the rest of our awesome first day of the Christmas break, but we’re busy today too; so we’ll do this early update; and maybe continue that trend as needed – or just fit in our journal updates as we can fit them into our busy holiday schedule! ;^)
Dinner last night was pot-luck, and included everything from pizzeria pizza to pasta casserole with lots of Christmas-themed desserts; so there was something to keep everyone happy. Christmas crafting time followed dinner; some of the guys played video games in the lounge; and we watched a family Christmas movie in the living room. Dad didn’t get home until we were into that movie; and he was tired after a long week and challenging drive home. That didn’t keep him from joining in on the rest of the Christmas fun – or stay up late for when Cassie, Michael, and May got home too.
That didn’t happen until closer to midnight than eleven, but while that was late; it worked out fairly-awesomely for them too; since they didn’t end up having to wait until today to meet their new niece in person. Sierra really wanted to meet Cassie and Michael too; so that might have had something to do with her timing for that late-night feeding. Whether planned or not, they were all happy to get together for those first cuddles and in-person bonding; so that was a highlight of the day – even for those of us who didn’t go along for that little blast of fun. Thanks to our connections with Cassie and Michael, we could sense what was happening; and that was awesome-enough for us!
Unloading Cassie’s care wasn’t as much fun, but we helped out with that work and hauling everything up to the third floor – including Mandy. Cassie’s cat was very happy to be home – and not just because of the long drive; while Silkie decided that May needed a cuddle buddy for her first night back at ‘home’ with us. Mandy was in the lounge with us for the co-ed nap – and that’s pretty much all it was; since we didn’t actually get to sleep until too-late; and sleeping in wasn’t an option for most of us. The late-night chat time with our favorite collegians after they got back from their visit with Sierra was worth it, though; and we can always catch up on our sleep in the New Year! ;^)
That brings us to today – or our morning so far. We don’t actually have much exciting to write about so far, but extra exercise buddies for Tai Chi by the river was an awesome way to start the day – even though we were all tired. A hot, country breakfast warmed us up; and the continuing chat time was great too. Chores were next on our to-do list, but the collegians were exempt because they needed to be elsewhere for first visits with other family members and friends. Our chores aren’t newsworthy, but with May out of the house; some Magi-powered assistance with that work was an option – and had everything to do with why Naomi and Aiden stayed with us and helped out. We’re going to return the favor next – without the Magi-power support; so we’re doing this report now because we expect to be busy for the rest of the day – whether working or once we’re set free and can get back to the Christmassy fun with our families and friends.
We can write about those details with our next update, and really need to go catch up with Aiden or Naomi; so let’s wrap this up with our Christmas song pick of the day. In honor of having Cassie, Michael, and May home with us again; this song is for them!
