Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 18, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

We’re having too much fun to spend much time on this report; so we’ll keep it short – and it is early again so that we won’t need to stop later tonight to write it while having fun with our family and friends.

The rest of our final school day of the year was great with a late-afternoon band practice; favorite foods dinner-for-five; and an evening that included a group Magi lesson, Christmas movies, a lot of co-ed cuddling, and a co-ed sofa sleepover.  Our morning began with a chilly outdoor workout by the river; we followed that up with a hot breakfast; did some chores; and then Mom set us free to play for the day.  The weather warmed into the low-fifties, so biking the trails and playing at the park was an option.  We did that for most of the afternoon, but also did a bit of shopping this morning that included visits along the way with parents at the bakery and salon.  We had a ‘surprise’ pizzeria pizza lunch hosted by Mom that included most of the cousins and some aunts, uncles, and one father.  Some of our park biking and play time included younger cousins as we helped out with kid control for a couple of hours; and that’s pretty much all we have to this point in our day.

We’re home now; getting ready for hosting another family-and-friends’ dinner-and-Christmas-fun night; and waiting for the first group to arrive – including Naomi, Aiden, and their brother and sister.  The rest of our news for today will have to wait for our next update; since we really do expect to be busy through until at least an hour or two after Cassie, Michael, and May get home.  They haven’t left yet, but should be on the road soon.  We’re expecting them to have a long trip home – just as Dad might have once he’s ready to leave Crystal Springs and come home too.

Okay, we need to get back to work; so let’s wrap this up with our Christmas song pick.  We haven’t mentioned it very often, but we are fans of ‘The Masked Singer’ even if we usually keep up with the show through YouTube videos and school gossip.  The winner for this season prompted us to watch one of her Christmas movies last night; so here is one of our favorite songs from that show!

It’s Christmas, Eve – LeAnn Rimes
