Ehlana, Ethan, Naomi, and Aiden:
Happy 39th Birthday, Mr. Seager!
Naomi’s Dad is getting a kid-free night – which is why this update is coming to you from Aiden’s house; and we’re getting to have yet another co-ed sleepover! We’ve also had another tree-trimming and Christmas movie night after attending the birthday dinner at the Seager’s home; so we’re getting December off to an awesome start!
Our day began with a sub-freezing Tai Chi workout in Naomi’s back yard; our first at-school day since the holiday weekend was entertaining as we caught up on all of the latest kid and teen-rated gossip; and then three of us packed overnight bags before meeting up at Naomi’s house. We were drafted to help out with some work; followed that up with junior kid control; and then the dinner was a highlight of the day – especially the birthday cake, gift-giving, and the rest of the usual birthday fun. Zack and Eli actually took it easy on all of us – possibly due to threats of a bad night at the Carrington’s if they didn’t behave; and then we were on the clean-up crew before heading over to Aiden’s house by seven-thirty.
Mr. Draper has to work early – as usual, but he still joined us for most of the tree decorating. Hailey and Leah picked Elf Pets shows for that part of our Christmas entertainment; and then we watched ‘A Cinderella Story’ Christmas movie once the parents headed for bed. The boys can pretend that they’re too-cool for that kind of chick flick around their buddies, but they love the music and story as much as we do – and the co-ed cuddle time was a bonus for all of us. Hailey and Leah were in a giggling mood tonight while around us, but let’s not think about having them join us a couples with any of the boys their age anytime soon – especially when Zack and Eli are among the list of boys that would be on their future potential boyfriends list – or at least that’s true for Hailey; since both boys are Leah’s cousins.
It isn’t Halloween, though; so let’s not take that idea any further. ;^)
That’s pretty much all we have for tonight, but it is time to start our annual daily Christmas songs. This year, since so many people are dealing with unexpected loss due to the pandemic; our first pick is a song that we love because it’s meant to remind us that there is love and joy to be found even at the worst of times – and that’s thanks to the true gift and meaning of Christmas.
The Sweetest Gift – Craig Aven and the Piano Guys
Sharing the love and joy of Christmas will be more-important this year than ever, and that can happen in the smallest of ways, so we’re going to do what we can this month to do that here at home – and maybe help out with some bigger, family-business-led efforts around the world too! for now, it’s time to get back to the cuddling as we wind down to nap time; so we’re out of here!
