Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - December 19, 2019

Ethan:

Okay, this has been an awesome, crazy-busy day!

Tai Chi was the quietest moments; and life got busier from there – and more exciting.  Mom went with a hot breakfast; our morning at school was all about getting ready for the concert; and then we had a bonus pizzeria pizza day for our lunch.  Cassie, Michael, and May helped out with that at the pizzeria; took care of the deliveries to the school too; and then had lunch with Mom before returning there for the concert.  Ehlana and I had fun with that show, but we only had the one song with our class; and didn’t try to do anything extra.  Jessica and Patrick have taken over from Cassie and Michael now as the two best-loved musical talents, and in addition to sharing the spotlight for the best duet of the afternoon; they also help out with the music for all of the classes and some of the other acts.

The pageant ran a bit long this year, but the snack and social time after that wasn’t rushed; so we were a bit late getting home and started on the rest of our play plans with Cassie, Michael, and May.  We stayed indoors; had fun with a Christmas craft that some of our cousins came over to do while Mom and Aunt Leanne did some baking and pre-cooking for the holidays; and then we ended up having dinner together too before moving on to the Inn for the Christmas party version of game night – the last we’ll have until the New Year.  We had a lot of fun with that too; Mom and Miranda won the senior team title – as usual; and Cassie and May were the runner-up team – though Cassie may have helped to make sure that would be the case so that Miranda wouldn’t be disappointed.

Mom only had five of us when we came home tonight; some of us hit the tubs or Jacuzzis; and I’ve been doing some light archives reading and listening to Christmas music while the girls were taking turns in the Jacuzzis and Michael took care of some work on his computer.  Tomorrow is going to be a play and party day at school, so I don’t really need to get fully-recharged to be ready for that, but the holiday fun is going to continue; we’ll have at least a bit of a family and friends dinner and movies night; and we’ll also have incoming weekend guests.  Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa will all get home tomorrow too along with those weekend guests; so it is definitely going to get much busier around here for the next few days!

I’m going to do a bit more reading before heading off to sleep; so I’ll leave the music pick and any added news to Ehlana and move on – or back – to my digital play time.

Ethan – out!

Ehlana:

Naomi and I came in fourth for the junior team game night competition; which is pretty good on one of the busiest nights at the Inn for the gaming.  Olde Bakery Christmas treats have everything to do with the big turnout; which was why the games took a bit longer than usual too.  I was first for Jacuzzi time tonight; May is in the tub now; and I’m doing some lab report reading while waiting for the bedtime girl chat with Cassie and May – and possibly Mom too.  If we have time to do that at all this weekend; it’ll be with larger groups of girls; so I’ll stay awake for that last bit of quiet fun.

There isn’t really much to add for the rest of our day.  The play and work this morning was fun because we did all of that with our friends and classmates; the Christmas concert was entertaining and sometimes funny – whether intentional or not; and the after-school crafts were special because Brianna and Faith in particular are always fun to play with when they’re as fired up as they were today.

That just leaves my Christmas music pick, and since Christmas gift wishes were part of our kid-chat this afternoon; I’ll go with an older favorite – though I’ll also report that none of the items on the list for this song were on Aunt Leanne’s list today! ;^)

This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live from what is now my past!
