Ethan:
It is so great to have Cassie, Michael, and
May home for the holidays!
Our Christmas adventures with them didn’t
exactly start out with a party. There
was a round of happy hugs; and then we got to work unloading the car – which was
packed-full; so that took a while by the time we moved everything up to their
bedrooms on the third floor. There was a
long visit in the lounge after that; and then the adults in the house headed
for their beds while we – the kids – stayed up for a while longer before
eventually falling asleep in the lounge.
Yes, that included a sofa sleepover for Naomi and me; and a camping in
the lounge nap for Ehlana and Aiden – Ehlana at the other end of the sofa; and
Aiden in a sleeping bag on the floor and close-enough to her that they could
hold hands while still awake.
Tai Chi with our favorite collegians was a
great way to start the day; there was a welcome home bonus breakfast; and then
some of us had chores to do for a while.
Cassie, May, Ehlana, and Naomi did some shopping too – including for
some groceries and supplies; but then we were set free to play for most of the
rest of the day. We did that with seven
of us until lunchtime; had that easy-meal with Mom and Dad; and then it was
time to play with the cousins for the afternoon. While it felt like winter again outside,
there was some outdoor fun; but we spent most of the afternoon playing video
games and hanging out in the lounge or Ehlana’s room. The aunts and uncles joined us in time for a
family dinner that was really great; and then there were Christmas chick flicks
in the living room and more video gaming in the lounge until most of our guests
headed home by around ten-thirty.
Naomi and Aiden are staying for a bonus
sleepover; we’re in that break between guests going home and a wind-down movie
in the lounge; and Cassie, Michael, and May are going to join us for at least
the start of that show. There could be
another junior co-ed sofa sleepover for Naomi and me tonight; and the fact that
Cassie and Michael are married now doesn’t keep Naomi from using their ‘sleepovers’
as validation for her point of view on the issue.
I’ll let you know how that goes, but that’s
all of the news for today. We’ve had a
lot of fun; and spending so much of our time with Cassie, Michael, and May has
definitely been what we love most about this first-half of our weekend.
Actually, I loved all of the cuddle time
and the sofa sleepover with Naomi, but we’re eight; so I’m not supposed to
admit that sort of thing yet! ;^)
I’ll take the Christmas music video pick
for tonight, and since Brianna and Faith picked Barbie – A Perfect Christmas
for one of the shows; I’ll go with one of our cousins’ favorite songs from that
movie.
Bonus Song – The
Star I Wish Tonight - Barbie

Ehlana:
The shopping Ethan mentioned might have
included some fun shopping at our favorite stores and a visit with Rowen at the
computer store, but we got the ‘work’ done too; and didn’t really buy very much
that wasn’t on our list. Our play time
for the rest of the day was great – even when the guys were gaming; and we had
lots of time to catch up on some overdue girls’ chat time. The movies, meals, and cuddle time with our
favorite people were all highlights of my day, and while Aiden and I still aren’t
ready for sofa sleepovers; camping in the lounge was good too; and we’ll
appreciate the precedence that Ethan and Naomi are setting for whenever we do
want to join them in that little club.
That’s it for me; but I’m going to add two
more songs from that Barbie movie because I like it as much as our younger
cousins.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
