Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 24th Birthday, Dawn Rice!
Our cousin is jet-setting somewhere for work as usual this weekend, but since she is a co-pilot; we’re sure that getting to do what she loves for a job will be part of her celebration fun! That is why we haven’t heard news from her yet today – though Cassie is hoping to do a vid-chat with her sometime tonight.
Since our last update, the Pinehurst Christmas parade was the highlight of our Friday evening, and we were glad to get comparatively-decent weather – no snow or rain; and the parade-time temperature around freezing. We had fun with our friends and the music; our families offered lots of support; and then we got to have some fun after the parade with a visit with Santa; hot drinks; Christmas treats; and more – including a lighting ceremony for a revived park lights display that would be considered small compared to the big cities, but was pretty good for the small towns in our area. Ehlana and I hosted our four best friends for the co-ed sleepover after we got home from the parade; we enjoyed some Christmas music videos and cuddle time; and crashed into nap mode with just a handful of hours left to sleep before we needed to be up again for the Christmas shopping trip.
We skipped Tai Chi this morning; got ready for the day; and headed to the Inn for the breakfast buffet. That meal was a great way to start the day; Dad ended up with Aiden, Aaron, and me for the trip to the city in his truck; and Mom had four girls plus Sophia’s Mom in the minivan when we hit the road from the Inn. The drive time was fairly-quiet in the truck and more-fun for the girls in the minivan; we all met up at our favorite mall; and got right to the shopping. The girls had more fun with the shopping too, but we all got everything done as we chose gifts for family and friends. We were paired up in couples for about half of the time; split up when we needed to shop for each other or to deal with guys’ or girls’ gifts. The mall time included lunch at the food court; we moved on to our favorite big-box toy store for a couple of hours; and then wrapped up our shopping adventures with an hour or so at Wal-Mart. That stop was mostly for smaller gifts and some supplies; and then we picked up fast food on the way out of town for the drive home. We juggled the passengers for the ride home; and we were in co-ed pairs. That made the drive time more fun – at least I think that it did. Dad had me go with him for a round of deliveries of larger packages that he brought home in his truck; Mom had help for several stops with the minivan; and we’re all home now – though not for long for Ehlana and me. She’s going to be with Aiden tonight; I’ll be with Naomi; and we don’t need to write about what Mom and Dad will do with their kid-free night.
Ehlana and I need to head out now; so that’s all for this report. We’ll skip another day for world news because we want to stay happy. While we move on to the rest of our plans for tonight; our sixth video pick of the season is from a Hallmark movie that we still love a lot, and while it might not be a future Christmas classic; we still love the song and hope you will enjoy it too!
