Happy 8th Anniversary, Josiah and Christina!
We didn’t help out with the family celebration today – the couple of honor opted for a quieter party with closest family and friends – and a kid-free night that we won’t be writing about at all.
As for our holiday adventures, we had a lot of fun yesterday with our friends and stayed warm indoors most of the time. After Seth’s party on Sunday, the hang-out time with the gang didn’t include as much story time, but there was more video gaming; football watching; movies; and co-ed cuddle time. Ehlana and I don’t mention pairings very often for our friends, but that is mostly because we don’t want to write about those personal dramas for their privacy. We do want to mention that there are a few matches other than the pairs we have with our four best friends; there are other, temporary pairings that we know won’t last; and only one couple right now that will not likely survive the winter. Most of our friends headed for their homes by around eleven o’clock last night; we kept our four best friends for the co-ed sleepover; and we stayed up too late – even though Ehlana also wants me to mention that I was first to fall asleep while everyone else managed to see the movie we were watching to the end.
That brings us up to today, and it was still cold this morning; so Tai Chi was indoors; we had a hot breakfast; and then our friends moved on with their own plans for the day while Ehlana and I were put to work on chores at home and at one of the cottages. We kept busy with that until lunchtime; had that meal with Mom; and then we headed to the lab or archives to play for the afternoon. We used time phasing to get more done – though Ehlana needed to be careful with that while around other people in the lab, but it was quieter there anyway while some of the people are taking extra time off during the school break. Mom cooked dinner and we were home on-time for that meal with our parents; and tonight we have not been doing anything with our friends. The teens in the house took care of the post-dinner clean-up; we worked in the office and did a Magi lesson with Mom; and got a fair bit of charity and family business work done before coming upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time at around ten o’clock.
Now we’re winding down and ready to get some sleep, but before we go there; let’s do a quick news update. The top story being ignored by the western leaders and media was a Ukrainian drone attack on one of the residences of Russian President Putin using over ninety drones, and while it apparently failed; it was insane to attempt a decapitation strike on the leader of a nuclear power – especially when that country has a ‘deadman’ switch for a retaliatory strike in the event of just such an attack! That is the sort of thing that would lead directly to a nuclear war, and if any western leaders aided in that attack; then they are idiots. The attack may have also derailed the latest peace talk claims, but then we didn’t really believe they were going anywhere anyway; so this could just be the latest excuse for continuing the war. We are sure that Ukraine will face new consequences; and they will not like how this latest stupidity will end for them.
It is getting late and we’re tired; so let’s stop there; call it a night; and we’ll get started on our nap time in dreamland right now.
