Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 5th Birthday, Sierra Stone!
We offered our best wishes and a gift to Sierra today, but aren’t involved in her birthday dinner and party. Cassie and Michael helped with the party – and have her brothers overnight while Sierra has a sleepover with best friends and cousins, but we don’t have any updates or news from the party yet.
As for our day, we started out early seeing Dad and Anna Marie off to Crystal Springs; eventually moved on to our school day as we wind down fast toward the Christmas break; and then Ehlana and I went to the lab or archives to work-play there for the rest of the afternoon and evening. With Dad out of town, Mom joined us and brought dinner; spent some time with each of us before and after dinner; and then we all eventually came home by around nine-thirty. We did some time phasing to get more done; and don’t expect to be at the lab again for the rest of the week because we’re going to be busy with holiday fun both at school and elsewhere through the weekend.
Once we were home, Mom had us help with a few chores; and now we’re winding down fast with the usual bedtime computer checks and twin chat. We don’t really want to get into a rant about world news tonight. Nothing has changed for the major conflicts; and we’re a bit sick of the political spin happening for some of the stories from the weekend – especially the shootings in Australia and at Brown University. Nothing we heard or saw today from politicians offer real proposals to solve the social problems that are leading to these violent attacks and shootings; and the hypocrisy is especially-insane coming from the same leaders that cheer for more war and destruction in places like Ukraine and the Middle East. We don’t want to see any violence anywhere – which is why we want all atrocities to end whether that is a war or an individual act of terrorism.
We really don’t want to get started on a rant; so let’s wrap this up with our Christmas music video pick. This version of an old classic is a fairly-new favorite, so while we get some sleep now; enjoy the song and feel free to sing along! ;^)
