Happy 27th Birthday, Garrett Wingborough!
This has been another busy, fun day, and we’re happy and tired; so this is going to be a short update. While we didn’t have any birthday party kind of fun; we had a good day at school; followed that up by hosting a dinner and study session with our four best friends; and then we headed to the Inn for game night. Ehlana and Aiden won the junior title; and Naomi had fun with teasing them – even though we only came in fourth this week. Ehlana and I walked Naomi and Aiden to their homes while taking Silkie for a bedtime walk; and then Mom decided that we needed to call it a night instead of adding in any work or even a Magi lesson.
That worked for us; and we’re making the computer checks and twin chat time short too. We are not going to get into many details from the world news, but there are stories that we want to mention. First up, Ukraine seems closer to the verge of military and infrastructure collapse; and winter is a bad time to have major cities without electricity and with energy shortfalls for heating and fuel too. More towns and cities are falling to the Russian military with more cauldrons forming too. Peace talks are going nowhere thanks to European and Ukrainian leaders refusing to acknowledge reality on the ground while Ukraine is being dismantled – both for the country and the military forces. We also want to mention a story about our country seizing an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela – an act of piracy that is another indication that our leaders choose to use our military power to steal and impose illegal economic blockades that show further proof that our country cannot be trusted to follow laws and act with honor. That might sound harsh, but our leaders are causing a lot of damage to our international image – and that will not end well for us.
We do want to stay happy; so let’s wrap this up with our Christmas video pick of the day. This is another Christmas movie song, and since Ehlana insists that I admit that I choose it because I love Christmas love story songs; I’ll take responsibility – even though she feels the same way and loves the song too. Enjoy the musical entertainment whenever you’re reading this in our future; and we’ll get some sleep while we can to be ready for another busy, Christmassy weekend!
