Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 10th Birthday, Donnie Spencer!
We haven’t been involved in Donnie’s special day, but can report that Brianna, Faith, and many of their friends have been helping to make Donnie’s day special while we’ve been busy with our own academic adventures. This update is early because we’re only home to switch between school and the band trip we’ll be heading out on soon for the Pinehurst parade. Ehlana and I are hosting the co-ed sleepover with our friends tonight too; so we’re taking care of our computing now so that we can have fun for the rest of the day – and into the weekend; since the kids’ Christmas shopping trip is tomorrow too!
It is a bit warmer today, and that will work for the parade tonight; since it will be around freezing at parade time – cold, but not too-cold for playing our instruments outdoors for a couple of hours. We’ve had fun at school today, but don’t have anything newsworthy to write about for our classes and lessons. Actually, the rest of our day-so-far hasn’t been newsworthy, but we have had fun; and now we’re ready to play with our family and friends over the next couple of days. We’ll share those stories with you when we get to the updates, but now we’re just ready to get started on those adventures now.
We could offer a lot of world news, but there really haven’t been any significant changes to the top stories. We do want to mention that India is hosting a State visit from Russia and President Putin; and we’re interested in that story because there are significant differences with that visit and diplomacy compared to what happens with our own leaders. President Putin and Prime Minister Modi are making deals and building relationships. Our usual ‘diplomacy’ is telling friends and foes what to do – or just flat-out issuing orders with carrot-or-stick options for everyone else. It is becoming more-obvious which countries are building a future and the countries that are trying to keep the status quo while the rest of the world moves on.
That’s enough for today. While we get started on the weekend fun; enjoy our fifth Christmas music video pick of the month. This cover of ‘Mistletoe’ is our favorite because it is also a bit of a mash-up with snippets of classics; and we hope you will love it as much as we do!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
