Ehlana and Ethan:
Poor Ethan is tired out – and not just from all of the extra hugs and kisses with Naomi today as we shopped and had a blast with our family and friends! We skipped Tai Chi today; got ready and to the Inn for the breakfast buffet that was awesome; and then we hit the road for the city – along with well-over one-hundred teens, kids, and driver-chaperones! Some of the boys might suggest that fast food lunch and dinner top the highlights list, and Ethan won’t refute that those kisses with Naomi were each highlights for him, but the actual shopping added up to a lot of awesome; and most of us are ready for back-to-school fashion for the rest of the year.
This might be a good point to comment on our continuing growth spurts, since we needed to replace pretty much all of our school clothes again, but let’s also mention that we didn’t go nuts with that; since we’ll need to do the same thing again by the end of the year; and we continue to donate the clothes that we outgrow – unless we wear them out first. Ethan is closer to Naomi for keeping up with growth spurts than Aiden is doing with me so far, but it really won’t be much longer before the boys will be taller than Naomi or me; so we’ll enjoy the tiny advantages while we have them! ;^)
Moving along, we avoided any weird moments by splitting up from the guys for some of our shopping today; and Ethan is blushing because he knows what I’m thinking about parts of that segregated shopping and what Naomi purchased. Tempting as it is to have some fun with that; let’s just roll along to other stories. In addition to school clothes, we also picked up gifts for birthdays and other upcoming celebrations; we checked out some new music and accessories for our various musical instruments; and we added in a pet store stop where we picked up some toys and treats for our favorite pets. Lunch was at the food court; we picked up fast food to go when ready to hit the road for home; and we switched up vehicles for that return trip because Dad and Anna Marie met up with us for parts of the afternoon shopping thanks to being done work early. Anna Marie got a ride home with her family; Dad got us – and Naomi and Aiden; and Mom ended up with Aunt Leanne, Brianna, Faith, and two of their friends in the minivan thanks to some alternate driver help for Aunt Leanne’s designated minivan.
Thanks to the food-to-go, we got home in time to catch the end of the hometown sale day, so while the girls had fun with that at the Galleria and other favorite stores; the guys took care of a lot of the deliveries and getting vehicles unloaded. There was still work to do after I got home with Mom, but we took care of all of that; had a nice visit with Dad; and then we were all ready to hit tubs or Jacuzzis and then get some sleep. Ethan and I are finished getting cleaned up and now we’re ready to move on to nap time after a quick computer check and shorter-than-usual twin chat that has been all about re-capping our shopping day.
Before we do that, let’s add that Cassie and Michael had a productive final full work day in Switzerland; they are soon going to be up and dealing with a last breakfast meeting before starting to journey home that will be a very long day by the time they get to the east coast by Sunday morning. By the time we’re up again in the morning, they’ll be winging their way west on the first leg of their journey, but we’re mostly interested in getting some sleep now; so that’s all we have for tonight. This has been an awesome day, and while the countdown really feels as though it is on to the end of our summer now; we’re also really looking forward to the new school year. We still have a lot of fun to fit into the final week and change of our summer, though, and need to re-charge a bit to be ready for those adventures; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
