Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - August 22, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 4th Birthday, Andy Carter!

Ethan and I didn’t get to spend any time with Andy or out at the ranch today; so we’ll hope that his family and friends have done a good job making his day special!

A chores day for us hasn’t been special in any way, but we did work with Naomi and Aiden as a team – and with Sophia and Aaron some of the time too; so we managed to have fun while dealing with the usual lawn-and-garden work at a total of eight places.  The Carringtons hosted a barbeque after the work was done, and Mom multi-tasked a last round of shopping trip planning with Aunt Leanne while we were there, and then we eventually came home without overnight guests so that Ethan and I could do some family business work with Mom in the office before we all take tomorrow off for the back-to-school shopping trip!

That is why this work day was necessary, so as we wind down toward nap time; we are definitely ready for a play day at our favorite mall and stores.  Before we get to the down time, though, let’s also cover the rest of our story from last night.  The dinner and co-ed baseball entertainment kept us busy and happy for a few hours; we followed that up with a couple of hours of babysitting that ended up being based at Jake and Stephanie’s house for the babies and toddlers we watched with help from Naomi, Aiden, Sophia, and Aaron.  The work night thing kept those next-gen parents from staying out late; Ethan and I brought our four best friends home with us for the rest of the night; and we watched a movie and enjoyed the teen chat time and co-ed cuddling for a bit too long before we got around to the co-ed sofa sleepover part of our night.  Tai Chi by the river with Mom and extra exercise buddies is always awesome; we had a hot breakfast that the teens made and cleaned up from; and then it was straight to the chores – though Sophia and Aaron split off from us for a while to check in with parents and do other things for the first couple of hours.

That’s pretty much all for our news of the day.  Cassie and Michael have had another busy work day; they love what little they’ve been able to see so far in Switzerland; and they are getting a lot done with the limited time they have to spend there for this trip.  With just one more full day to go before they start the trip for home on Saturday – a day that they will be starting soon, local time, while we sleep; they are going to be very busy.  Ethan and I are sure to have more fun with our shopping, but they’ll get the better scenery – at least when they can be outdoors between meetings and at site visits; so we’ll all likely still manage to have fun whether working or playing!

Those stories will need to wait for our next update, since it is getting late and we do want to be at full-power for our retail adventures; so that’s all for tonight and we’ll be back again soon with at least some of the shopping trip highlights!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
