Ehlana and Ethan:
Our biking, play time at Quarry Lake, barbeque dinner, outdoor movies, and camping all added up to an awesome Thursday with our extended family and a lot of friends! We stayed up too-late after the movies with late night swimming and teen chat time, but we also had younger kids camping with us too; so there didn’t end up being any co-ed camping for the few hours of nap time we eventually got around to having once we did climb into our sleeping bags and tents.
Ethan and I were two of the teens and kids in the family needing to trade off yesterday’s play adventures with chores today, and we got to work on that right after breakfast while other teens and kids moved on to their own play or work. We’ve been working in a crew with Naomi, Aiden, and Sophia; it has taken all day to get the work done with the extra yards we’re taking care of for cottages and while Cassie and Michael continue their European adventures. Now we are getting cleaned up and ready for another family barbeque dinner – this one hosted by the Ayres; and it will be busy because we have an overlap of visiting family guests as the family that has been here for the past week stays another day or two while the incoming group has arrived.
That’s an issue for sleeping arrangements for a night or two, but while the cottages are new and popular; we do still have more than enough family-home guest rooms available for the extra company. We’re getting two families for the coming week – Rob, Trish, and their kids; and Nadine, Malcolm, and their family. Some of our cousins will be staying for a second week too, but we’ll have more on that with future updates. As for right now, we really need to get over to the Ayres’ home soon; so let’s wrap this up.
While the Ayres are hosting dinner and the evening entertainment, we’re keeping the camping here in our yard again tonight – mostly so that we didn’t need to move the tents and gear. The rest of the details for today will be flexible; so we’ll just save them up for our next report. For now, we only need to add that Cassie and Michael have wrapped up their final ‘work’ day in Germany, and while they still have a couple of work-related activities planned over the weekend; they will also be playing and going sightseeing too before they move on to Austria on Sunday. They’ve gotten a lot done this week and will have a lot more to do with everything they’ve added to their already-extensive workload, but there will be more delegation too; and we’ll help out where we can – and so will everyone else getting assigned some of those projects. That reminds us that we’re overdue for updates of Cassie’s and Michael’s college friends including the group that works for or is partnered with one or more of our family businesses, but we don’t have time for that now; so we’ll try to add that into a near-future report soon.
That’s enough for now, though, and we really do need to go soon; so we’re out of here and back to having fun out there in the ‘real’ world! ;^)
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
