Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - March 27, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 13th Birthday, Jayden!

We sent gifts and had a dinnertime vid-chat with our cousin, but that was it for our involvement in his special day; and his family and friends took care of helping him out with the celebration.  We did more with Natalie’s birthday yesterday, and in addition to providing some ‘live’ music for her co-ed party; we helped with some of the work before and after dinner; stayed long enough to help with the post-party clean-up; and helped with as much of the fun parts of the night too.  Our co-ed sofa sleepover at Naomi’s house was a highlight of our day; so pretty much everything about our afternoon and evening was awesome!

Tai Chi was indoors this morning; we had a hot breakfast; and then our school day was pretty good.  The colder weather had everything to do with our choice to play at the lab or archives after school.  We kept ourselves entertained there for a few hours; had dinner with Mom and Dad; and then we’ve spent the evening working in the office; doing a Magi lesson with Mom; and wrapping up our day with bath or Jacuzzi time.  That’s all we have for current events; so let’s move on to the belated travel report.

Now that we’ve been home for days now, writing about those stories doesn’t seem very important.  We’re actually looking ahead to Cassie and Michael’s next trip that is now just days away – along with the Easter holiday weekend.  There are also some collegians home this weekend for their spring breaks, but we haven’t really had any involvement with them so far – though that’ll change a bit this weekend even if that is only when we’re at church on Friday and Sunday.

We do want to comment on our trip, though, so let’s do that now.  You won’t be surprised to know that we really loved all of the time we got to spend with some of our favorite parents and cousins and their friends, but we also need to mention that Grandma and Grandpa met up with us for some of our adventures and they are still in Florida and won’t be home for Easter this year.  They are not really into extreme rides anymore – though Grandpa might do more of them if help with healing wouldn’t be needed as-often as is true now.  We loved that time with them while sharing them with everyone else; and are glad that we got to have those visits with them last week.

Our personal highlights from Disney World this time included the Animal Kingdom and all of the extreme rides, but we also loved Hollywood Studios and the shorter visit we had at Epcot.  We didn’t have many ‘good’ meals while there, but we chose to do that instead of ‘losing’ time from our adventures to stop for finer dining options.  It might be required for kids from Witch Falls to love everything about the Harry Potter attractions at Universal, but while that is fun to joke about; we love the books and stories; so we really enjoyed getting to visit our second-favorite magical places!  The extreme rides at the various parks were a close second on the fun scale, and while that was true for the rides that our younger cousins couldn’t do with us; we had the most fun on the rides that we could all do together – especially when it came to the interactive rides.  We had a couple of better dinners as we rolled into the weekend, but the one thing that we didn’t do much of was shopping – other than for souvenirs.  That was another choice, but we also decided that there wasn’t much point in picking up summer clothes now when we’ll possibly grow out of them between now and June or July.  SeaWorld on Saturday was another highlight of our week, and while we are conflicted when it comes to animals in captivity, you just can’t deny that places like SeaWorld give us opportunities to see and learn about marine life in ways that could never happen any other way for most people.

Okay, that’s enough for tonight.  We were up a bit too-late last night and need to get some sleep now; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland soon.  We only have one school day left ahead of the holiday weekend; so stay tuned for the upcoming blast of holiday fun news that we’ll hopefully get to have with our family and friends!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
