Ehlana and Ethan:
This update is coming to you live from Florida!
We’re just checking into our hotel; so this is just a micro-update and we’ll add details when we make time for the rest of our reports this week. Our wake-up calls came early this morning, but we were fired up right away; and we were first to be ready to hit the road ahead of the rest of our little gang of travelers. Uncle Mark, Aunt Grace, Uncle Nick, Aunt Deborah, Liz, Philip, and the gang of kids going with them – and us – were loaded and ready to go on-time too; and then we all hit the road for the airport. Minivans were borrowed for this trip, since we do have more kids and teens than adults, but let’s just add that in addition to the kids of those parents, Brianna, Zack, Hailey, and Beth-Ann with all of them added for best friends or because Aiden and Aaron were coming too.
The drive time and flights were an adventure too, but we helped out a lot with kid control; so it was a bit tiring too and not newsworthy. I am not going to get into a commentary on airport security today, since we’re heading back out to play for the rest of the day, but while I didn’t like the scanners and other issues for my favorite women, I can assure you that I really dislike all of that now that I’m a tween and don’t think that anyone should be allowed to look at me or my friends and cousins with that kind of tech – or have the power to insist on even more-invasive searches. Get a grip on reality, people of the world, and stop allowing horrid things like that!
Moving along, we made our plane transfer without incident; arrived in Orlando; and eventually rounded up all of our luggage and picked up two large passenger vans that we’re renting for the week. We’re at Disney World through Wednesday night, and while there has been some rain and a bit more expected; it is supposed to be decent this evening and it is in the high seventies – a big change from the sub-freezing temperature we left back at home this morning. We’re planning on some indoor adventures now; but then we’ll be at the main park for the evening when the weather is forecast to be better. Finally, before we get going again, we’ll also mention that we are staying in very nice suites, but there won’t be co-ed opportunities for the teens and tweens in our group because we’re also sharing rooms with younger kids and helping out with them too each night. Naomi, Sophia, and I will be helping with Brianna, Faith, Leah, Hailey, and Beth-Ann; so we’ll have it much-better than the boys when they have Zack and Eli teamed up and possibly at their worst thanks to daily fun overload!
We’ll let you know how all of that goes for us as we go along, but it is time to meet up with everyone again and get going again; so we’re out of here!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
