Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 46th Birthday, Mom!
We’re giving Mom – and Dad – a kid-free night, though considering the lack of news from their weekend away; they don’t really need the extra alone time! ;^)
Our day has been pretty good, but we are also going to bed early because we need to be up very early to head for the airport and the start of our Christmas gift from Cassie, Michael, and also from most of the parents involved in the plan and this trip to Florida. Tai Chi was by the river this morning, but chilly and not much above freezing. It didn’t warm up much today, but that didn’t get in the way of our adventures; since we spent most of the time indoors. Breakfast with Cassie and Michael was good too; we had fun at church and Sunday school; and then we decided to go home and pack our bags for the trip before lunch instead of this afternoon. That took an hour or so; we hauled everything over to Cassie and Michael’s house; and loaded most of it into their car while only keeping out the things we needed for the rest of today and in the morning. After that and our lunch break, Cassie went along with us for a visit to the lab and archives, and while I really wanted to play for a few hours too; we really only checked out what was going on there; made sure that projects we’re working on were tidied up and secure while we’ll be away; and in my case; leaving some notes for work that can be done by others while we’re gone.
We made sure that we had time to get ready for dinner at the Inn; collected some best friends along the way there; and met up with Mom, Dad, Uncle Adam, Aunt Leanne, and a small gang of family and friends by the time we got to the Inn. Mom’s birthday dinner was amazing, and while we were on kid control while we enjoyed the meal, we still managed to get in on some of the birthday fun – including a bit of roasting; the birthday song and gifts and cake; and the social time that followed dinner because we were also at the late buffet. Naomi and Aiden came home with us after we left the Inn for a visit with Mom and Dad while Sophia and Aaron went to spend some time with their own parents. Dad had to do some work to get ready for his week in the city, so we had that visit in the office. It felt like we didn’t spend enough time with Mom, but she’s staying home instead of coming with us – though she’ll likely spend a night or two in Crystal Springs with Dad too; and we all need the early night ahead of traveling to the airport or Crystal Springs in the morning. Sophia and Aaron met up with us again at Cassie and Michael’s house and are here for the night too. We’re split up right now and Ethan and I are writing this report and the rest of us are getting ready for bed; so let’s wrap this up. We really do need to get up early to head for the airport, and we’ll be part of a small convoy, but we’ll save those details for our next report. That update will be coming to you ‘live’ from Florida, so stay tuned for that; and we’ll call it a night soon; enjoy the co-ed sofa sleepover end to our weekend – even though that really will only be a nap before we’ll need to be up and going again.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
