Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - November 5, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

This has been another very busy day, and we’re tired; so this report probably won’t end up being as complete as we should make it.  With that admission, let’s start with the rest of the story from last night.

Dad’s birthday dinner at the Inn was a blast, but we were on kid control; Zack and Eli were in fine form; and we managed to keep them out of trouble while some of our favorite parents had fun with roasting Dad.  The babysitting that followed at the Ayres’ home can be a part of our story that we can gloss over; so let’s do that.  We had a very large gang of kids to take care of; they kept us up until very late – especially the gamers in the play room; and we were exhausted by the time we got around to having naps that ranged from a couple of hours to a max of four hours.  Yes, the girls got more sleep than the guys, but we were all still up in time for Tai Chi before breakfast.

Our morning adventures around breakfast included helping the extra parents that came over to help with the meal and kids; the food was pretty good – once we got a chance to eat; and all of the crazy that went along with getting everyone to church of time had some of us ready for naps instead of church and Sunday school.  That didn’t happen, but we did spend our Sunday school time helping out with the usual work that gets done every year for the teen-led services at Thanksgiving and Christmas.  That kept us busy for most of the morning; we had Naomi and Aiden with us when we came home for lunch; and we had a vid-chat with Cassie and Michael for our meal-time entertainment.  We really wish that we could be somewhere hot too, but can’t really complain when the weather here was pretty good for early November.  That’s why we spent most of the afternoon outdoors.  We biked the trails; played at the park with some friends; and came home without Naomi and Aiden in time to help Mom with making dinner.

Dinner with Mom and Dad included a chat about our respective afternoon adventures; we took care of the clean-up; and then our evening included a Magi lesson and then we watched a movie in the living room.  Yes, that’s a bit of a novelty, but Dad had his work done; and we were happy to spend some time with our parents that wasn’t work-related!  Bath or Jacuzzi time followed the movie; and now we’re quickly winding down toward nap time because we really do need the down time.

A break in the busy would be nice, but then that’ll just give us chances to do more with our work at the lab or here at home; so don’t expect our lives to get too-boring – even if that might be true compared to the fun that Cassie and Michael are having in South America.  Whatever ends up happening, we are ready to rest up and re-charge now; so that’s all for this report.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
