Naomi, Ethan, Ehlana, Aiden, Sofia, and Aaron:
Happy 12th Birthday, Caroline Carter!
I am taking over this update from Ethan because a girl is required to write about the tween party report!
The weather has been pretty good today with a high in the mid-sixties; and that worked for Caroline’s party; since some outdoor time was a comfortable option for the start of her celebration. We had a good day at school, and some of the highlights were birthday-related too, but we also had some extra outdoor time to go along with some treats at lunch and the cameo bits of entertainment we had with Caroline that included some little gifts. We split up after school for long-enough to get ready for Caroline’s party; and four of us had a short stop at Cassie and Michael’s house to check in on Mandy and spend a few minutes with her before getting to the party fun.
Sophia and Aaron aren’t a new tween story anymore, but they did get teased tonight about joining our group for co-ed sofa sleepovers! Sure, at least half of our friends are jealous that we’re getting away with them, but instead of commenting on that; let’s write about at least a couple of the newer tween stories. Caroline needs to be first for that, since she is paired up with Miles now; and the top news there is that he managed to do a pretty good job of making her happy today and he didn’t get into any girlfriend trouble – even though he didn’t totally avoid a few annoyances thanks to some food games and a bit too much fun with video gaming. Caroline really is happy tonight, though, so let’s take the win and be happy! Jen and Joshua are a couple too, and while that isn’t surprising; Ehlana, Sophia, and I want to mention that some of our friends have very different relationships compared to what we have with our guys. Small-town tween drama is usually mild compared to the norm in cities and bigger schools, but we have our own issues – including the simple fact that we know all of the kids in town. That makes the drama personal even when we’re talking about other couples, and we have to sometimes walk the fine line between friendship and privacy whenever our friends have fights and other drama moments. We won’t mention specific issues, but there are two couples in our group of friends having problems this weekend. Those problems didn’t really cause any issues with Caroline’s party, but those friends weren’t very happy tonight; and we won’t be surprised if we have one-less couple before much longer.
Moving along, as we mentioned, we had some outdoor time that was basically the social hour before Caroline’s birthday dinner; that meal was great – and non Pizzeria pizza; and then the birthday cakes topped off that meal while Caroline multi-tasked opening gifts and we joined in on the rest of the usual birthday fun. We were the only six tweens to help with the post-dinner clean-up; Caroline drafted us for an hour of music and dancing; and then we watched a movie that she picked out too. The party wrapped up starting around eleven-thirty; we came back here for the rest of the night; and will likely stay up too-late while watching movies and enjoying the wind-down cuddle time before we get around to having naps. Ehlana and Aiden get the ‘nest’ tonight; we’re all cozy and happy; and now I’m ready to wrap this up and get back to helping Ethan out with our personal cuddle time! Stay tuned; and Ethan and Ehlana can handle the next update that will include my future father-in-law’s birthday news and more!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
