Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - May 6, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 3rd Birthday, James Johnson!

Happy 6th Anniversary, Malcolm and Nadine Sinclair!

We didn’t have any involvement in those family celebrations today, but we have been very busy; so let’s get right to our double update!

Tai Chi yesterday morning was outdoors and warm-enough; we had a standard school day breakfast with a bonus vid-chat with Cassie and Michael; and then our academic adventures were a wind-down toward the weekend without any news beyond some bonus outdoor time.  The real fun for our day started when we headed over to Sophia’s house – though we started out with some party set-up work.  That was entertaining too; didn’t take long; and then we joined in on the play time as the rest of our friends and party guests arrived.  Bike rides, canoeing, and back yard games kept us busy until dinnertime; the barbeque was awesome; and we won’t comment on the few annoyances that mostly came from a handful of the guys that took their food and drinks games a bit too-far.  We helped with the post-dinner clean-up; Sophia loved her gifts and the rest of the usual birthday activities that wrapped up by the time the work was done; and then we had more play time until dusk when the last event of the party was a campfire.  Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies provided the musical entertainment; the scary stories were offered by the usual culprits from out little gang of friends; and we were allowed to hang out together until near-midnight before most of us were sent home and Sophia only kept five of the girls with her – including Ehlana and Naomi.

Aiden came home with me for the rest of the night; we didn’t stay awake for much longer before crashing into nap mode; and we got hours more sleep than the girls did at Sophia’s house.  We still got together with Ehlana and Naomi for Tai Chi by the river – along with Mom and Dad; so that was a great start to our day.  Mom helped them with some healing too before they went back to the Bassett’s house for breakfast; and then we eventually were all kept busy with chores until we stopped for a late lunch at around one o’clock.  By then, it had warmed up into the eighties on the way to a near-ninety high, so after a sandwiches and sides meal; we went for a bike ride out the trail to Quarry Lake and back.  Naomi and Aiden didn’t end up doing that with just the four of us because we had a small gang with us by the time we left the park – including two cousins and six friends.  That made the ride more fun for all of us, and while it was too-cold for a long swim; we jumped into the river for a short cool-off after getting home again.  An ice cream snack break followed; and then most of our friends and cousins headed for their own homes in time for dinner.

For a change, we took food along to the Seager’s house; and Naomi’s parents hosted the pot-luck dinner that included six families by the time we sat down to eat.  We had that meal outdoors; and the weather was still great; so we loved that part of our day a lot!  The clean-up wasn’t as much fun, but we helped out; and then our evening included a visit to the park and some play time that included fun with Silkie and Lady.

After a late night, we were all ready to head for our homes by dusk.  We didn’t go with a co-ed sleepover because Naomi and Aiden were invited to spend time with their own families – especially when they’ll be away with us next weekend; and we’re okay with having an early night anyway.  Bath or Jacuzzi time was next on our to-do list; we followed that up with a bedtime chat with Mom and Dad; and now we’ll be done with our twin chat and bedtime computing once we wrap up this report.  We’re tired and that works for us too; so that’s all for tonight.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
