Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy #aster!
The sunrise service, breakfast, and second Easter service and Sunday school collectively added up to an awesome morning. We also had fun with the treats and gifts that we got from the Easter Bunny, Mom, Dad, Cassie, and Michael before going to church; and then we also had an early-afternoon Easter dinner for the collective home-town and visiting members of our collective families that the Ayres hosted and everyone contributed to with food and dessert contributions. Our day wasn’t all fun and games, since we did some work at church and with cooking and cleaning on both sides of that family dinner.
The comparatively-early dinner was so that our guests could still head home in good time today, and that was partly-due to the cool, rainy weather. That’s why we were indoors most of the time today, and after our guests headed for their homes; we ended up doing chores at home; a bit of work in the office while Mom and Dad were working there too. Dad needed to get a lot done today to get ready for his week in the city; so we got a lot done too while Mom used a time phase to help Dad with catching up without needing to stay up half the night. We only had a snack instead of another meal after finishing up in the office; and we’ve wrapped up our holiday weekend with bath or Jacuzzi time; a music practice; and a long bedtime twin chat to go along with this update and watching some music videos.
We want to head off to sleep soon so that we can be up early again and see Dad off on his trip to the city. Before we wrap this up, though, we should add a few comments that we haven’t covered yet. Cassie and Michael have had a good weekend, but while we wish that they could have been home again for the holiday, they’re down to three weeks to final exams; and that’s particularly-important for Michael, Rowen, and Tim as they work to earn their Bachelor’s degrees. Yes, we know that they’ll earn those honors, but the workload is still tough for them; and they need to work every day right now. Cassie’s work is different, but she’s even busier with her T.A. duties and doctoral studies.
Back here at home, we should have mentioned more about Dillon’s birthday in our last update. His celebrations were mixed in with the family and Easter fun; he had a birthday roasting during the buffet dinner at the Inn; and we were only involved in that entertainment from the sidelines with the rest of the kids. Dillon did not get a kid-free night for his birthday because he and Violet wanted to share the Easter morning surprises with Ryan. All of our favorite young parents had fun with their kids this morning; and we had fun with our younger cousins when we were together too – though we didn’t spend a lot of time with the toddlers in the family while busier with the older kid and teen cousins. Finally, we want to mention the relatives that weren’t able to share this Easter with us. The Rice clan members were either busy with college or spending time with the in-law sides of their families. We miss seeing our aunts, uncles, and cousins, so we’re looking forward to the summer; and expect that we’ll see more of everyone – especially since we will have a lot of new entertainment opportunities this year – including the new shopping at the Galleria; the new trail to Quarry Lake; and new entertainment options at Quarry Lake and at the Ridge River Ranch.
We’ll have more on those stories over the next weeks and months, and that’s pretty much all we have for tonight; so we’re going to move on and go get some sleep now.
Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
