Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 22nd Birthday, Lucas Norton!
We didn’t have any personal involvement in Lucas’ birthday, but that’s mostly because harvest time continues on the farms; and Lucas didn’t take time off to celebrate his special day. Mom dropped off gifts at the office for his Mom to take out to him from Cassie, Michael, and our family; so the only reason we’re mentioning this today is because we talked about Lucas and Rebecca a couple of times today – particularly in relation to Rebecca’s pregnancy and his upcoming fatherhood. They’re only a year or so older than Cassie and Michael, but while we’re used to seeing Cassie’s older friends lead the way to next-level stages of life; it feels different this time – in part because we know that Cassie and Michael will not be joining the parents’ club in a year or two. Ehlana and I are not in a hurry to become an aunt and uncle, but we are picturing a future where Cassie and Michael’s kids are much-younger than their Stone family cousins. We’re also closing in on prime babysitting years too; and expect to start getting those jobs within the next year or two – including for Michael’s nieces and nephews.
Okay, that’s enough of that line of thought; so let’s move on to the rest of the news of the day.
There isn’t really very much to write about for our own lives. The weather is a bit cooler today, but other than a sprinkle or two of rain; the weather was still pretty nice today. We had a good day at school – even with one test and a quiz to go along with the rest of the fun; we work-played at the lab or archives again; and then we moved on to a late dinner and quiet work evening at home with Mom that included a Magi lesson. We’ve gotten out of the habit of writing about those lessons in our journals, but that’s mostly because Mom keeps detailed records of our training; so it isn’t really necessary to repeat her work. We always love those lessons; and while we don’t write about it here; using and learning about our Magi talents is both an important part of our lives and necessary for our future.
While we’re thinking about that sort of thing, we can also mention that we’ve been happy with the current break from problems with the Hathornes, but continue to watch out for any new attacks and prepare for those risks. Hopefully we won’t jinx ourselves by commenting on that, but we always think about that sort of thing more-often around Halloween for obvious reasons.
Moving along, after coming upstairs for the night, we had a bit of music play time; split up to get ready for bed; and have been chatting and surfing the internet through until now. That brings us up to now, and we should wrap this up and go get some sleep; so, until next time...
