Congratulations, Cody and Caylee (Reynolds) Carter – you’re married!
We would have gone to the wedding ceremony at the church if we’d been home, but weren’t on the guest list for the reception at the ranch; and May has already suggested that we tease Cody about missing his wedding in support of May now that her favorite cowboy has moved on and fallen in love with someone else! ;^)
Our day has been awesome without the wedding festivities; and the big football game was one of the highlights for us as we got to watch Michael and Tim play in-person for the first time since their last high school game. They both played awesome while leading their team to another win over Southern State – one of their local rivalry battles; and Michael slightly out-scored Tim by six points. The extra home-town cheering likely didn’t make much of a difference today, but getting the win too made our football adventure time even better for all of us.
In addition to the play time at the stadium, we went out for breakfast this morning; did a bit of shopping at Cassie’s favorite mall while Michael and Tim were busy with the team; and had lunch on campus before getting to the stadium in time for the early-afternoon game time. Michael and Tim had more to do with the team after the win – including interviews and fan time; so they didn’t end up having dinner with us either. We had surf-and-turf for that meal; returned to the townhouses with most of our visiting gang; and ended up having a movie night at Cassie and Michael’s while Rowen and Tim’s place was video gaming central for about half of the boys.
All of our gang that is staying at the hotel this weekend has left now; we’re taking turns getting cleaned up and ready for bed; and co-ed sofa sleepovers might be part of the plan for the rest of the night for the four of us staying with Cassie and Michael. We’re still going to have some bedtime chat time with them before getting around to that, but won’t stay up too-much later because we have a busy Sunday planned too.
The only news to add for this update is from last night. After getting to Cassie and Michael’s townhouse, we had a group visit with everyone; the hotel gang left by ten-thirty for their hotel; and Naomi and Ehlana ended up with Brianna for a sleepover buddy while Rowen and Tim have had Patrick, Jessica, Sophia, and Ryan with them this weekend. Michael and Tim had their game night curfew, so they went to bed on-time; and Cassie and Rowen took care of entertaining their guests until we were all ready to crash and nap for a handful of hours. That might not sound very exciting, but we’ve really missed Cassie a lot; so the time with her last night was really great.
We’re skipping most of the details, but don’t really need to include every bit of news when being here with our favorite collegians is what is really important. We will try to do a ‘college friends’ update with our next report, but it’s time to wrap this up and get back to the bedtime chat fun – and that co-ed sofa sleepover; so, until next time...
