Ehlana and Ethan:
Our first ‘home’ day of the school year has been fairly-quiet – though Mom might not agree with a house-full of kids and minimal extra help. That isn’t as scary for her as it might be for other parents, since she is a rather-talented Magi Master, but she has to play normal too; so nobody would believe her if she claimed to have fun all day – especially when Zack and Eli are two of the kids spending days off here with us! ;^)
Mom does keep us going on our online lessons and assignments – or does that for the younger kids; so we get finished early; and have more time to play in the afternoon. Today, that included an hour at the park with all of us; we headed for the lab for a couple of hours once our cousins and friends headed home or elsewhere; and have had a quiet evening of work and studying since getting home and having a late dinner. We just finished our music practice; so it’s time to head for our beds soon.
The last news we’ll add for today is from Cassie and Michael. It’s a bit early to declare victory at their college, but they may have passed the peak of their on-campus outbreak; and everyone seems to be getting used to the new restrictions on their social lives. That doesn’t mean that everything is perfect there, but it does seem that they’ll be able to keep going with the in-person classes; so Cassie, Michael, and their friends are very happy about that.
Finally, though our research at the lab is documented elsewhere in the archives, we’ll mention that we’re taking a look at the information we can get about some of the vaccines that are being worked on elsewhere in addition to the direction we’re taking our own research, but while at least one of us finds that fascinating; we’re cautious about all of those vaccines and are worried about the shortcuts being taken to try and get a vaccine on the market as quickly as possible. As we’ve mentioned already, nobody wants the cure to eventually prove to be more-dangerous than the illness, and that ought to be more-true now as we have better treatments and survival rates improve. We’ll keep hoping for the best – while also trying to develop our own safe and effective vaccine or, better yet, cure.
That’s enough for tonight, so we’ll wrap this up; and go get some sleep.
This is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
