Ehlana and Ethan:
Our first ‘home’ day of the school year was fun, but we’re going to keep this update short; so let’s cover the top ‘official’ news of the day – Miranda and Jacob’s move out of the family home and into one of the townhomes in the new section of town. They’re doing that so Jake and Stephanie can take over the Stone family home – which they’ll be doing once some re-modeling gets done over the next month or so.
This is something that has been planned for a while – and that we’ve known about, but the pandemic put a delay on those plans; and the work that will be done in the house will help keep people employed into the fall just as other projects are being finished. That isn’t the only project we’ll have going on around town to keep everyone working, but we’ll have more on that as we go along and those jobs are started. In this case, we’re happy about the news because Cassie and Michael will spend their home time with us from now until they’re done school. Sure, they could stay with his parents too, but the townhouse is comparatively-small; so we’ll all be happier with them here.
In related news, Jake and Stephanie’s impending move into a house has led to Violet and Dillon talking with Aunt Leanne about buying their first home. You can imagine how excited Aunt Leanne is about that idea; and she’s already had them out for a tour of a couple of the newest homes that have been built this summer. We’ll only be surprised if she doesn’t have them signed to a deal by the end of the week! ;^)
Finally, before we wrap this up and head for bed; let’s add just a quick report for our home-schooling adventures.
It was another cool day, so Tai Chi by the river was chilly. We were busy after that getting ready for our online lessons – and the cousins that were studying at our house too. We worked in the lounge with Naomi and Aiden; Mom had a group of younger cousins and friends in the office; and the sunroom was set up for Brianna, Faith, and a friend each with some part-time help from Grandma and Grandpa and more parental help at lunchtime. Our online lessons and studying wrapped up by three; we went to the lab for a couple of hours after that while Mom got a break; and it has been a normal study night since then – including the music practice and Magi lesson.
We’re back at school tomorrow, and are tired now; so that’s all for tonight.
