Ehlana and Ethan:
Our first at-school Monday since March was pretty good, but the news of the day that the kids and teens are talking about is the start of the new trail that will go from the park to Quarry Lake. This project has been part of our future plans for our community; and the timing for it works out great for the people that will have jobs this fall – and off-and-on again for the next year and a half. We’re excited about the new trail because it’ll be completed in time for us to be old-enough to bike out to Quarry Lake with our friends – something that most parents don’t let their kids do when a lot of that ride is on semi-busy roads.
No, the timing is not a coincidence! ;^)
As for our day, it started early with seeing Dad out on his trip to the city; Tai Chi by the river was chilly; and we had a standard, school-day breakfast before heading out to meet up with our cousins and friends for the walk to school. We should mention that Amy Spencer is our teacher this year; and Naomi has Brent Palmer. Amy was still ‘Miss White’ when she taught Cassie, but other than getting married and having two kids; she probably hasn’t changed much at all! Her daughter, Amelia, is Brianna’s best same-year friend, though, so that makes our connections with her a bit closer – and she is very happy to have us in her class this year.
Our school adventures don’t include anything newsworthy; we played and biked after we were set free; and then did our homework before Naomi and Aiden headed home for the night. It has been quiet around here since then; we had dinner with Mom; worked or studied in the office; and had a music practice before getting ready for bed. That’s pretty much all for today, and since we didn’t get a lot of sleep last night; we’re going to play catch up – starting right now.
