Happy Valentine’s Day!
Our co-ed nap time last night seemed very short when we got up to see Dad off on his trip to the city, but Mom and Dad had some gifts for us, so that was fun; and then we had another nap before needing to get up for the day and ready for school. We had gifts for Mom and Dad too, but Dad liked our fatigue-healing gift the best! Yes, Mom could have done that too, but she let us surprise Dad with that bonus bit of fun; and took care of her own personal healing – just as we did this morning too.
We wanted to share some Valentine’s Day fun with Naomi’s and Aiden’s parents too, but that was split up throughout the day – mostly because of the work needs for the bakery, salon, and school that kept us from doing anything with all of them at the same time. After having breakfast with Mom, we headed over to Aiden’s and Naomi’s homes for gift exchanges and fun with Aiden’s Mom and sister and Naomi’s parents and brother. That was all fun; and then we headed for school and our Valentine-themed adventures. All of our lessons were themed today, and that was entertaining, so the ‘real’ Valentine-related moments were collectively an awesome bonus. We had special Olde Bakery treats and a Pizzeria pizza lunch; Ehlana and Naomi were among the girls that loved getting roses delivered to their classrooms; and there were a lot of teen and tween stories happening alongside all of the usual kid-rated fun for the younger students.
Ehlana doesn’t want me to skip over the news about the gifts that Aiden and I had for our favorite Valentines – or how much they appreciated our efforts, so I’ve done that without any details; and we can move on knowing that it is the love and joy that we share that matters – not the gifts.
We are finished school for the day, and at home to get our overnight bags and Silkie. Mom is in the city for the night with Dad; they’ll be going out to dinner with the Malloys; and no other details will be requested or wanted! ;^) We are spending the night at Aiden’s; Naomi will be there too; and her parents are not getting a kid-free night because they lost the coin toss and will have Zack and Eli with them tonight. We’ll be with Aiden’s parents tonight because that’s the only time we can have with both of them, but while Hailey will be with them for dinner; she’s doing a sleepover with Leah tonight.
The rest of the news for today can wait for our next report, but we should add that the weather has warmed a bit today – into the high forties; so we may have a bike ride with some friends; and then we’ll need to get ready for our Valentine’s Day dinner date at the Inn. Yes, that is going to be an official date for the four of us, and we’re sure to be teased about that by our favorite people, but we will have a lot of family and friends around – including Naomi’s and Aiden’s parents; aunts, uncles, cousins, and lots of friends and neighbors. We can cover that news tomorrow night too, and need to get going soon anyway; so that’s all for this report.
