Ethan and Ehlana:
This early, afternoon update is being done because we’re going to be busy again tonight – this time because we – and Mom and Dad – are hosting the babysitting for a gang of kids and tweens while the parents go out to the Valentine’s dinner at the Inn and party at Sheldon’s. Yes, we know that it isn’t Valentine’s Day yet – the dinner and party plans just work better for Saturday night than on a work night; and that’s especially-true for Dad when he’ll be in the city next week.
Backing up to the rest of the news from yesterday, we dropped off our overnight bags at Naomi’s house; went out biking with our friends for an hour and a half or so; and then we were with Naomi and her Dad, brother, and Zack for dinner while Liz was busy at the salon for the evening. The boys ended up playing video games after dinner while Ehlana and Naomi weren’t really entertained by the gaming, but they stayed with Aiden and me anyway; and settled for the sidelines chat time and watching music videos on an iPad. We watched a movie after Liz got home – or the three couples in the house did while Zack and Eli took their video gaming elsewhere; and then we ended up being segregated for our nap time – mostly because Naomi ran out of patience with Zack and Eli as they switched from gaming to pranks for entertainment after Naomi’s parents went to bed for the night. Aiden and I helped out by getting Zack and Eli back to the gaming while the girls went to bed; and then we eventually got to sleep too in one of the guest rooms while Zack was with Eli for the night.
Our Saturday morning began with Tai Chi for four indoors. The drop in temperature overnight was shocking – though we didn’t personally experience that until after breakfast and the clean-up that followed when we went home to get started on our chores there. The workout was good thanks to Zack and Eli still being asleep; breakfast pranks and food games from Zack and Eli did not go over well when Naomi was still very annoyed with them; and that had a lot to do with why Zack and Eli were sent over to the Carrington’s house – leaving Naomi alone with her Dad for chores at her house while we went home and her Mom went to work.
Mom and Dad apparently didn’t do anything interesting at all while we were gone last night, so after a quick update; we got to work – and had a lot to do to get ready for hosting the gang of kids that will be getting here soon. That’s why we did a lot of that work with the help of our Magi talents, so while we got a lot done; the work was mostly-fun too! We finished up the work by twelve-thirty; had a quick lunch; and then Mom and Ehlana picked up Aunt Leanne, Brianna, and Naomi and headed for the salon and their appointments with Liz and Vicky. Dad has a lot of work to get done this weekend, so he went to do that in the office; and I headed over to the lab to play in the archives for a few hours. Ehlana came over to play in her lab for a while after getting her hair done; and we came home just a while ago so that we could be here to help out with the pre-dinner work.
That isn’t really a huge deal, since Pizzeria pizza will be the main course for feeding everyone here while the parents go and enjoy the better offerings at the Inn. The ‘parents’ club includes some of the younger couples; so we’re also babysitting some babies and toddlers. The rest of our adventures in babysitting can wait for our next update, though, and we need to get back to work again now; so that’s all for this report.
