Ethan and Ehlana:
Today’s to news for our family is the start of classes for many of our favorite collegians. Most of the graduating class from last year is now home to stay; so those friends and neighbors earned some attention today too. Cassie could get attention for being the youngest-ever hometown kid to begin her doctoral studies – officially, but Michael and Tim are getting more notice for their college football player status – even before their first game of the season.
Here at home, the return to hotter weather is newsworthy – even though the warming has been gradual to now; and it won’t get quite as hot as it did in early-August. We’ve spent our day-so-far doing chores at home this morning; having a picnic lunch with our friends at the park this afternoon; and biking and swimming a lot. We’re now transitioning to baseball for Faith’s last game-practice of the season, and since the T-ball teams don’t have a holiday weekend championship match; there will be little awards and treats for the kids today – all of them. We’ll be helping out with the kid-control; so that will be fun for us too.
Finally, for today, we’re going to have a camping night with Naomi and Aiden at Aiden’s house – mostly so that our parents get a break this week and we’re still by the river for swim time when needed. The rest of the news for our day will need to wait until tomorrow, though; since we really need to wrap this up and get to that game-practice soon.
