Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - August 20, 2021

Ethan and Ehlana:

Beginning from the end of our last report, the trip to the city was fun, but uneventful; our fast-food lunch in the food court was weird because the mask-wearing felt strange after months of not needing them at home anymore; and that was true for the shopping all afternoon.

On a side-note thanks to those pandemic-related thoughts; since our Magi-powered ‘vaccine’ is substantially-different from the normal Covid vaccines; we don’t expect to have any issues with any of the variants – at least so far.  That could change if the virus mutates more than it has so far, but what we’re getting at for this little side-trip is that we don’t have to worry about the Delta variant at all; and won’t be at risk of being carriers that can spread it to other people.  Masks really aren’t necessary for us anymore – even if we need to go along with the restrictions for appearances.

Moving along, we had fun with the shopping for most of the afternoon; checked into the hotel in time for a swim while waiting for Dad to get there after work; and then we went out for dinner with the Malloys.  That was a highlight of the day – and so was the visit to SportsFusion so that we – the six kids – could play for a couple of hours.  Wrapping up our day with co-ed cuddling and a five-star sleepover made for a perfect end to our day; and we won’t comment on what Mom and Dad might have been doing in their room; since their smiles this morning strongly suggested that Dad did not just work all night!

Leaving those thoughts behind – where they belong; we had fun with Tai Chi by the pool this morning; breakfast with Dad at his favorite diner was great; and then we had time to go for a swim before packing up and checking out of the hotel.  We did all of that and still got to the mall before the rest of our hometown shoppers met up with us; and at least one of us doesn’t need to write about the shopping details for the rest of our day.  We had a blast; we’re set up for starting school; and we loved the fast food lunch and dinner that could be the last we’ll have until the Christmas shopping season – unless we get to go on a college football trip or two this fall.

Dad finished work early, so he met up with us in time for the stop at our favorite toy store; he helped with the supply shopping at Wal-Mart; and then the fast food dinner was picked up and we ate while on the drive home.  Dad, Aiden, and I started making deliveries that were in his truck once we got back to town, but the girls needed to do a bit more shopping for the shopping-in-the-city-day sales.  We had the truck unloaded by the time they got home with the minivan; we unloaded it too; and then Ehlana and I walked Naomi and Aiden home while also taking Silkie for a bedtime walk.

That wasn’t the end of our day, since we still needed to unpack and put everything away; get a load of laundry started; and have a bedtime chat and snack with Mom and Dad.  Bath or Jacuzzi time followed that last bit of family fun; and now we’re pretty much ready to crash and nap – though our twin-chat time has lasted for longer than it should have – especially when we have a busy Saturday ahead of us starting with a morning of baseball games to watch or play.

That’s enough of a reason for us to wrap this up and move on to the nap time; so, until next time...
