Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - November 22, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 3rd Birthday, Aaron Spencer!

This has been a chores day for us so far, and we’ll be split up for the rest of the day while Ehlana hosts Aiden here and I go to spend the night with Naomi and her family; so this is another early update – though we’ll try to add in more information from both home and on the world news front.

Our top news is that we won the football game and will be going to the championship game next Friday!  The Clairmont team and their hometown fans were disappointed, but they played well and even had two more scoring drives than we did, but their six touchdowns and six field goals didn’t overcome our ten touchdowns.  Yes, both defenses had a tough night, but that had more to do with a wet field and playing conditions while up against two very-talented offenses.  Ehlana wants me to write about my five touchdowns, but while I had a very good game; so did Aiden and Aaron – even if they didn’t get as much of the scoring recognition.  We also have work to do by next Friday; since our defense really did have a lot of holes in it last night; and that won’t end well for us in the championship game.

Since we were visiting Clairmont last night, we didn’t have a victory party – unless you call the long bus ride home a party.  Sophia hosted the co-ed sleepover at her house – and not just so that Mom and Dad could get a kid-free night for Dad’s return home from the city!  We don’t have much to report from that sleepover because we had some teen chat time; didn’t watch a movie; and fell asleep within an hour of getting there – from the school for Aaron, Aiden, and me.  We were happy, though, and the co-ed nap time was really awesome after a cold, damp sports night.

The rain moved on overnight, so we went with Tai Chi by the river this morning; the teens cooked breakfast for everyone – including the collegians visiting home for the coming week; and then we also helped with the clean-up before moving on to our respective chores or work for the day.  For Ehlana and I, that meant doing our own thing without Naomi and Aiden because more of the work was indoors at our respective homes.  We also needed to help out at Cassie and Michael’s house; Grandma and Grandpa’s place; and three of the cottages to get them ready for returns home or the holiday weekend.  While we’re on that topic; Cassie and Michael are on the way home; they’ll get to the west coast tonight; and then fly the rest of the way home in the morning and then get here by mid-afternoon.  We’ll write more about their last few days of the trip tomorrow night; since we haven’t really had time to get any travel details today anyway.  We finished all of our chores; so now we’re getting cleaned up and ready for our respective play nights.  That brings us up to now, but before we wrap this up and get started on the fun parts of our day; let’s do a quick world news update.

Topping the news cycle with the mainstream media is the latest version of the Ukraine peace plan – this time with twenty-eight points that we can assure you will not be accepted by the Russians and that Ukraine and European leaders don’t agree with despite the fact that the inevitable deal with Russia will be far-worse than what is being proposed.  Just for a few examples of what won’t work, though, we are sure that Russia will not agree to handing over three-hundred billion dollars of their money to Ukraine and the United States – an outright theft of money that has been frozen by western countries for the past four years.  They will not agree to having the United States guarantee military protection for Ukraine – which basically puts NATO in Ukraine in a back-door kind of way; and they will not accept a Ukrainian military force of six-hundred thousand along with full western support for weapons to re-arm that force.  More than half of the rest of that plan is nonsense too; so this latest round of ‘talks’ is a waste of time and money.

While that is going on; the plight of the Palestinians continues to be ignored; and the killing continues.  That will prove to be a dark stain on our collective history; and worse that we allowed it to be perpetrated by the descendants of Holocaust survivors.  On the daily distractions front, one of the weekend stories is about a Congresswoman from Georgia who has resigned from Congress, and while we have issues with most politicians; we certainly can’t fault one of them for quitting in disgust over a rigged game.  She also wrote the headlines for the media with her analogy that she was not going to continue to be a ‘battered wife’ who stayed silent and hoped for the attacks to stop.  We will predict that her replacement will not offer that kind of honesty; since she was being attacked all of the time for refusing to go along with the political status quo.

Okay, that’s enough for today.  I need to get over to Naomi’s house soon; and Aiden will be here soon too; so that’s all for this report.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
